Depending on the time of year. Depending upon which island you may be on. It can get quite cold in the hwn shade, as an FYI.

It’s unclear tho why hawaiian shade is so terribly effected/affected by incidences which can alter temperatures.

the most notable is ucsb beating csun in a sweep and a ‘push comes to shove’ in the opening and 3rd set. na wahine better have trained better during their bye week and remember thanks to the losing football team of their homecoming, there is no tai manuolevao to push them through. sunday games usually are ‘slouch’ or lousy anyways because everybody is kind of ‘retired’ to prepare for the week.

that said, ultimately the bows will need to be ready for csun and the beach at home and beware of irvine on the road and davis when they come.

Change “ACC the 3rd most powerful conf.” to Big12. Change Washington’s “RPI 3” to RPI 4. Not that anyone cares.

The unbeaten ranks remain the same, and thus Monday’s AVCA (coaches) poll will remain the same 1-2-3-4 as the last couple of weeks. I am tempted to say the same for the NCAA RPI but …

1. Stanford (18-0) [AVCA = 1, RPI = 1] hosts Oct. 24 UCLA and Oct. 26 USC. The Cards and the Dawgs will meet in the regular season once only — @ Washington in the penultimate match of the season on Nov. 26.

2. Texas (14-0) [AVCA = 2, RPI = 3] plays at home Oct. 22 TCU and Oct. 25 Oklahoma. Like I said before, of the undefeateds IMO Texas has the weakest schedule (except for that last match of the regular season, which turns out to be a non-conf. match), although the NCAA RPI rates the ACC the 3rd most powerful conf. if just looking at the top 25 in the RPI — 3 Texas, 17 Kansas St, 20 Kansas, 24 Iowa St., which is 1 of the 4 regional hosts. In other words, 4 of its 9-member conf. teams are within the “bubble” consideration for 1 of the NCAA Championship 16 seeds.

3. Washington (19-0) [AVCA=3, RPI = 3] welcomes Oct. 24 Utah and Oct. 26 Colorado. And less we forget, the Huskies are again 1 of the 4 regional hosts.

4. Florida St (19-0) [AVCA =4, RPI =2] travels to Oct. 24 Pittsburg and to Oct. 26 Wake Forest. The NCAA RPI ranks the ACC (2 Florida St, 17 N. Carolina, 21 Duke) tied with the SEC as D1’s 4th most powerful conf. if just looking at the top 25 RPI.

That’s great that UCSB beat CSUN, but that can also means that UCSB is not to be taken lightly, especially at UCSB. They just swept a team that I would say dominated us in 3 sets. I think Cal Poly could also give us fits, if not at home, probably on the road. Every match is going to be tough. Both matches with UCSB and Poly, at Irvine and CSUN/LBSU at home will all be crucial, crucial must wins for na wahine if they want a shot at the conference title.

And everyone always seems to play their career match against Hawaii.

LBSU a 4 set winner over Cal Poly – 26-28 25-22 25-15 25-20. Na Wahine should be ready and able to take care of business when UCSB come to town in a week even without Tai Manu-Olevao playing. Every game is crucial from now on. GO BOWS!
