You are clueless. So what if other players had more digs than the libero? Are you insane? Check all the stat sheets from 2002, when Melissa Villaroman was the first UH libero, and you will see that every single UH libero had matches where they didn’t lead the team in digs. Seriously, that’s your gripe with Mendoza? What about those several matches when she had ridiculous amounts of digs? Including that time that she had 24 in three sets? And that she is averaging 4 digs/set per season? Seriously?! Get a clue. I don’t know what Mendoza did to you, but your constant harping on her is creepy.

We have QB problem & sometimes a setter problem too, just need to go to plan A, B or C but need do in set 1.

165 agreed!

wahine just looked so tentative. even in the few moments where they battled back, they had looks of uncertainty on their faces. the passing — as all have pointed out — was the first critical missing component to last night. hawaii hit for over .400 for most of set 2 and was still behind for most of that set, before making a mini-comeback, only to spot csun the lead again late in that set.

the blocking numbers were pretty good (10 blocks) for a 3-set match … but it didn’t put a dent in csun’s confidence or hitting percentage. give csun a lot of credit. they came up fired up. and they were looking to really knock off hawaii, likely they were disappointed after losing at lbsu last week. and with their setter going down to injury, their upperclassmen really stepped up their game to help their frosh setter. they flat-out out-played hawaii last night.

something major has to happen or hawaii will be looking at a disappointing 0-2 road trip after tonight’s match against lbsu. whatever anger/frustration/disappointment that the wahine are feeling … hope they can funnel that into some positive energy tonight.

For the record it’s really more out of frustration and disappointment to see a loss this bad at mid-season. Does’nt give one much to
look forward to when all of the weaknesses posters have been bringing up show up in one match well into the season. Hope for a turn around?

The Wahine fans are too nice, even applauding opposition plays. There are times for this, but with The Beach and CSUN, they better bring a little more attitude, some of which is displayed on this very board…The team itself better be pumped for those games in Nov., as it will play large in how the West was won.

Almost as tiring and repetitive as your mobile reserve and armor BS. This is college volleyball, not a war. As for Mendoza being the best passer, why are you mentioning that in a sarcastic manner? She’s the best passer out of all the DS. She’s not perfect, but who is? Kahakai is not 100 percent, as Cindy has already said more than once. Apparently you weren’t aware, as you were busy daydreaming about your mobile reserves and armory nonsense. And even when Kahakai was healthy, she wasn’t perfect, either. Remember that match in which she really struggled? Couldn’t pass a single ball. I’m pretty sure Mendoza’s a better passer than Guinasso, Ponce and Anderson at this point as well.
