No.5 Points (to me mean a lot).
they beat UH, but lost in the first round of the NIVC
She seemingly was hurt again throughout the season. Why?

You are right about Houston’s collegiate playing years but wrong about the awards. In each year that Houston was selected All-Regional (2006, 2007, 2008), she also was honored as an All-American.

I think Cindy is thinking of Cecilia Goods (middle). Even though she was selected an All-Regional in 1997, the AVCA did not include her on the AA First or Second Team. In any event, in 1997 the HM category was non-existent.

Can hardly wait for the FINAL FOUR — is this Stanford’s strongest women’s volleyball team of all time? And for the start of the Sand Bows 19 season!

A little harsh?

Just a little?

Untalented is being sub-.500 and finishing sixth.

She was on the team from 05 to 08, so you were right in the article, just off with the year.

Thanks for all your coverage this wahine season. On to the men now!

I agree with everyone’s assessment. Hawaii was a team effort without any one standout player on a consistent basis.
5. disagree with you about Ruddins, she ranked top 5 nationally in six categories
No. 1 Attacks Per Set 14.61
No. 2 Kills Per Set 5.37
No. 2 Points Per Set 6.07
No. 3 Total Attacks 1,490
No. 4 Total Kills 548
No. 5 Points 619
BTW prior to NCAA tournament
Ionia was 8th nationally with Triple Doubles (4)

And Third Team was not created until 2002.

Speaking of 1997, what a legendary year that was, with the likes of Misty May of LBSU, Kerri Walsh and Kristin Folkl of Stanford, Bonnie Bremmer of PSU, Jasmina Marinkovic of USC, Sarah Noriega of Loyola Marymount, etc.

And speaking of the Lions, congrats to 2018’s LMU for being the last of the “Last 4 In” but at least saving face for the NCAA Volleyball Committee by not being a “one and done” Round 1 loser.

I hope Robyn can begin talking about the team in terms of “we” versus them (the players) and “I/my.” This minor change could be very important for the sake of the entire team and the coaching staff.
This season was a good team effort. Liked seeing their progress through the season.

Agreed. It was a strong team effort, not a “get the ball to Tori” type of team. Last year, Shar, I got nervous when Rika served, not so much this year. Everyone pitched in. Does anyone notice that Robyn at least acknowledges the player when they leave the court with a little low five. Dave rarely did that…well maybe in his later years he did.
I’m certainly looking forward to what Robyn and staff can do with the players they’re going to have for next year. I’ve read that a least a couple of them like Riley and Amber are already buying into the culture that is UH Wahine Volleyball! GO BOWS!

There was no standout player but there was also no player that made me nervous when she walked into the game. They ended up working and connecting well. There were bright spots in every player. I celebrate every member of this wahine team and not just the stand outs.
