56. home court was huge. it was supposed to be treated as a neutral site but the NCAA allowed Beach to treat it like their home matches.
to follow up on the student section. I was told by tourney officials that a number of students were escorted out during the match because of profanity and other inappropriate comments. Which just makes what the ESPN guys were saying about ‘homecourt advantage’ even more outrageous.

50. Beach had more service error (23-20) but also more aces (8-2). IMHO the SEs came at more critical times.
52. they are leaving LAX on two separate flights, one united, one american. I guess you could track whatever flights come from LAX-HNL.
not like 96 where everyone was on the same flight (I think Aloha) and the firetrucks came out to do an arc that the plane taxied through. That was fun. I got off earlier than they did and there were hundreds at the gate. Back when you could do such a thing.
I did ask about some sort of reception for team. But with School out and graduation Saturday doesn’t seem like there is time to get it in before guys leave for summer.

The only thing that brings me
Solace in this is Uh brings back four quality starters to the beach’s two who are not the kind of players they can lead on. The Warriors will be fine and hopefully the 2020 title is theirs. just feel bad for worsley, svt, solbrig and Rosie so close to achieving their goal just some

Regarding next year, a lot depends on how mentally focused they are on winning the NC. Last year, the post-season snub triggered a collective work ethic that took UH from very good to stellar. If the team wakes up on Monday and focuses on improving themselves, then they will be a top 3 favorite for the NC.

Assuming Thelle is a strong successor to Joe, and UH addresses the OH and MB2 openings, UH should win the BW over UCSB. Nationally, like ManoaFan, I think UH, UCSB, Lewis, UCLA and BYU should be the contenders. I don’t think we all realize how spoiled we have been watching this team. One of the top 5 all time teams despite not winning the NC, because of another all-time top 5 team in LBSU. UH won’t be as good next year, and won’t be head-and-shoulders above everyone else. But they have the pieces in place for a realistic shot at the NC.
