Tonight the Warriors were without Cowell, who for all intents and purposes would’ve been able to bury those high balls to the outside. If Cowell is out again, a faster offense may be more appropriate for the reserve hitters coming who may not be able to effectively work well with Thelle’s high ball sets.

Having said that, it was a smart move by Wade to change the Setters and therefore the overall offensive scheme.

As much as I criticize Rado sometimes, no question he was money tonight. His serving and key kills were what kept UH in it- he proved tonight he was a legit POY candidate.

Lewis was tough. They serve the ball effectively and their setter does an excellent job at spreading the ball. Two big AA and gritty defense. They will probably win the MIVA and may play UH again if both make the NCAAs. That said they easily could have won sets 2-4 as well, especially set 3. Anyway, I’ll digress here. But one more thing I want to say is the fact that Hawaii was down and tested with their backs against the wall, AND the fact they made it through that, I’m sure it gives the team confidence they’ll need if they want to win it all.
