5. definitely a different style after winning a point. Part of the entertaining style
6. Parapunov fell back on one of his last attacks in Set 3, landed awkwardly. He was walking on it fine after match. The plan had been to sub out the starters so that’s what happened after Set 3.
7. Parapunov is fine. no need to start any speculation.
8. I had asked last week and this week about the coronavirus. UH said no concern but that was before things escalated.
Nittaida was already here when things started getting worse in Japan with the closures.
Hate to say it but Olympics may be in danger.

Last thing this team needs is for its starters to get sick. I saw that some festivities in Japan were canceled due to the disease.

What made up for that was Hawaii almost posting up 20 blocks in an exhibition game with a 1/2 block shy of that. But it was nice to see some run given to the reserves to play against a tough exhibition team from Japan. I thought they played solid despite the team as a whole being challenged early on.

But yeah, Rado’s ankle would have to be something to monitor on because it would be imperative that he is needed to face BYU. Without a doubt, it’ll be hard if Rado sits out by then. Hopefully, he’ll be ready once BYU marches to town because Cowell cannot be the main constant to handle BYU’s offense, and it would make Gasman, Voss and Humler more expendable to try and navigate around BYU’s defense. BYU is playing really well and it would be disheartening if this team played BYU without Rado and dropped both games. That series is going to dictate who will stay No. 1 during regular season, and it is a biggie for both Charlie Wade and Shawn Olmstead. Let’s stay hot and keep this win streak rolling!

Hope he’ll be OK for next week.

I remember in the 80s wondering why the women were all running around in random circles after a point/sideout. When two Japanese teams play each other, everybody must be running around in circles.

Don’t see Eleu Choy out there tonight. Is he OK?

The Japanese flag is up next to the U.S. and Hawaiian flags
