new thread up for Saturday
11. IMHO they can and will take both
they smoked the Cougars last year in Provo. and BYU a very different team outside of Smith.
Why would you suggest UH change a lot? What exactly do you suggest they change?
They are 11-0, they lead the country in hitting percentage and blocking. Parapunov 4.32 kps, .389. (the only usual starter under .400) Cowell 3.96 kps, .408, Gasman 1.93 kps, 1.46 blocks, .479. Voss .545
12. no they have not settled in on a starting lineup and won’t, IMHO, going with situational matchups. They have the players to do it.
13. Humler is more steady, has a better passing game and serve, more experience.
Galloway more dynamic, tons of upside, still learning the game.
as for setter, my feeling is that it’s Sheward. Most of the returning hitters are used to a shorter setter (Worsley) and his trajectory/pace on the ball very similar to Worsley. He seems to connect better with the middles as well and IMHO is better at setting out-of-system balls.
Thelle better server, blocker, attacker. Think his set location is not as good as Sheward’s

Your post is in all sorts of a mess. I’m confused, so you’re addressing your own post… which I would of course doubt… Though there actually are people who do that.

Anyway, I will say that Galloway was just as deserving as every single player there. Period. If you were a real fan of the team you wouldn’t be throwing every other player who works just as hard in practice under the bus.

Nice observations. Humler was steady last night. His save in the first set is my pick for Play of the Year so far. The Warriors seem to play at a quicker pace with Sheward in the lineup.

On another note, Colton Cowell drew loud oohs and aahs from the crowd (including me) during warmups with a wicked BIC attack that went straight down in the middle of the court just beyond the attack line on the other side of the net after “hanging” for what seemed like an eternity. It was even more beautiful to watch when they ran it during the game.

This team is so much fun to watch. There’s a quiet confidence in them. They’re not cocky. They’re respectful. They play at an extremely high level. If you haven’t attended a match yet, tonight would be a good one to watch. There’s a lot going on this weekend, but I encourage as many of you to come and cheer for the Rainbow Warriors. A championship contest deserves championship support.

Galloway deserved a shot and got it. Humler is more steady all-around, especially in the back row.

13. I think it’s Sheward at setter for now. The attackers are connecting with him.

Just curious. Has Wade yet settled on a starting lineup yet? Specifically at OH2 and Setter?

Especially with the OH2. Read your article on Galloway in this past week’s paper, and thought that he was going to be the starter from now on. Then, tonight against Concordia Humler started…. I’m confused.

A split would be nice. Sweeping BYU would be a huge surprise. Maybe, UH can change a lot in the next one month before they play BYU.

Mouchlias had some jewelry on and it seemed there also was an issue with his tape
8. Hawaii’s single camera is only in use when TV isn’t doing the broadcast. Don’t think anyone can complain about the cameras Spectrum uses. IMHO the best volleyball broadcast in the country.
9. yellow card was for delay of game when Mouchlias had to leave the substitution box to remove jewelry and tape.
Humler’s play came in Set 1. Mentioned it in the main box at 7:11.

That save by Humler in set 2 or was it 3 is the play of the year…so far.

Very efficient from the Bows tonight. I like it. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s match. This Concordia team has had some quality wins this season. I thought it was going to be more of a match than it turned out being.

Btw, I happened to watch the final set of McKendree’s five set win over Lewis as it was streamed on Youtube, and I noticed that they must have spent money on a new camera for their live-stream. The quality was really good. I wish they had that camera for the Hawaii match.

What was on his arm?
