    Cindy,

Are those the new unis or did they still not come in?

  2. rage January 10, 2020 7:05 pm

Also, where is Coach Milan? I noticed last night he wasn’t greeting the starters.

  3. Cindy Luis January 10, 2020 7:22 pm

    1. new uniforms. as mentioned last night.
Zarkovic still out. Anastassiades filled in with the hugs.

    4. as mentioned, Zarkovic still out (sick)

Is James Anastassiades (sp) the team captain?

  7. Cindy Luis January 10, 2020 9:47 pm

    6. no

  8. shar January 10, 2020 10:10 pm

    7. Do they have a captain and/or floor captain?

  9. UHVoice97 January 11, 2020 12:17 am

    8. What I recently noticed is James represents the team during the coin toss at the 25-minute mark of the pre-game countdown to decide who serves first to open the match. The designated floor captain has been Jakob Thelle through the four matches so far.

I do like UnderArmor, but the uniforms have SUCKED big time especially for the Wahine this past season. Sooooooo booooooring. BORING BORING BORING BORING BORING!!!!!!!!!! The men’s shorts and tops don’t even match!!! Asics made some pretty nice designs in the past, especially during Nikki Taylor’s senior year and Hendrik Mol’s senior year.

Any update on men’s volleyball games posdibly needing to be played on Wednesdays and Sundays next season? If the rumor is true, it isn’t too early to protest this ludicrous schedule change. The change will kill attendance for men’s volleyball games.

  12. Setaone January 11, 2020 4:52 am

    11. Who is dictating that change? That sucks for everyone. How do the athletes even attend school during travel weeks?

  13. T103 January 11, 2020 5:29 am

For todays (Saturday) final match, is it going to be on tv? Or just stats online and radio?

  14. Arigato January 11, 2020 7:48 am

Thank you Spectrum for allowing Hi Telcom to show the volleyball games, but you really should get a person who does a better job with the camera.

Which announcer introduces the national anthem singer ? Because he said the singer is an “alumni ” of the University of Hawaii. It should be an alumna (for females) or an alumnus ( for males) or “alum” can be used.

  16. Cindy Luis January 11, 2020 9:52 am

    8. yes, normally the setter. Last night, it was Thelle
    10. the seasons you mention were ASICS, not UnderArmor. UnderArmor is not known for its volleyball apparel or shoes. We are seeing their lack of expertise.
    11. not a rumor. It is what I wrote. Wade said that is the discussion of the Big West because of the addition teams in men’s and women’s basketball which might take up all the Thur-Fri-Sat nights Jan-through mid-March. The Wednesday-Sunday would be Hawaii’s solution.
BUT too early to protest. It’s not a done deal.
    12. teams travel all the time. It isn’t an issue. Much of their classwork is done online. Hawaii traveling next week from Tuesday through the following Wednesday.
    13. have links to Saturday’s info. TV and Radio
If you need immediate answers in case I can’t get to it. go to hawaiiathletics.com and click on men’s volleyball schedule.
    14. don’t watch the TV so don’t konw what you mean. They havn’et changed camera people and I have found them to be the best in the country.
If you mean Thursday’s single-camera view that was due to no Spectrum coverage and basically what the other schools do with their online stream
    15. Wasn’t the usual announcer, who for two nights didn’t realize that the teams walk onto the court first then the singer is announced. He was doing the anthem introduction while the teams were waiting to walk out.
yes, agree it is alumna. single female. alumnae plural female. alumnus single male. alumni plural male or plural mixed gender.
    new thread up for Saturday
