Warriors have a shot but the schedule is not kind to them, toughest conference matches on the road. But they are hosting the Big West tournament and that winner gets the auto bid.

8. meant to mention that Rattray and Matautia were starting for UCLA. mentioned it in my print story in today’s paper.
At one point, Rattray was 7-1-8. He finished 15-7-23.
Matautia finally got out of negative, was 6-2-11, aced once.
Bruins won 25-17, 26-24, 25-18

Even if Cowell’s vertical has improved it’s hard to imagine him in the OH2 role at only 6’1″. At that size he could get roofed a lot. One might expect Humler at 6’7″ or Johnson at 6’6″ to have a better shot at garnering playing time at OH.

Rattray and Matuatia started in UCLA’s first match of the season vs Princeton and Rattray was the leader in kills and Austin was tied for 2nd in points.
LBSU i think returns 6 starters. Does UH have a chance to win the NCAA championship ? Our lineup looks the same except for Tuileta will not be there.

WaWa – the UCLA men’s DOVO is now Courtney Chai, formerly of UHAD.

The battle for OH2 will be between Colton and Rosie. Colton is much improved, including his vertical. He and Rosie played beach vb together this summer.

Looking forward to this weekend.

2. That was the lineup yesterday for some back row stuff. I see Rosenmeier starting. He spent a lot of time over the summer with the U.S. national team
3-4. Thurlby has a successful business outside of volleyball. Agree she’ll be fine.

Cayley was the DOO. She have not done any D1 level coaching so I don’t think she will fit in in terms of coaching. She already was a DOO for Sealy in the past and I don’t think Sealy will get rid of the current DOO to make room for her.

Her career path is quite unique in that she chooses to be a DOO for such a long period of time. Most will try and move up the coaching ladder. She seems content to being a DOO no matter where she goes.

Spencer & Cayley are kind of a package deal. I can see her working at UCLA in some capacity. DOVO for men’s if that’s available. Possibly the qualified female coach that Sealy desperately needs for his women’s program. Although, I’m not quite sure about the longevity there either. Either way, Cayley will land on her feet. She has built up a great resume for herself.
