8-9: from my experience, previous ones may have sold out but there always seemed to be room. Kind of a rolling event, not everyone showing up at the same time.

14. no real room to do such due to where the track and baseball stadium located. They may be able to upgrade the two courts over by the pool But for now tournaments will be at Queen’s.

With the recent upgrades to some Big West Beach Volleyball programs, does Hawaii plan on upgrading its 2-court facility to at least 4 or 5 courts so that they can host on-campus tournaments?

7. That’s good thinking! It’s an idea to *expand the base* for donations. I am not against these fundraisers. I understand the necessity. But, UH Foundation is rigid when it comes to appealing to a broader spectrum of possible supporters. For example, a group of us lobbied UHF to offer lower priced tickets for Shoji’s retirement bash held at the Stan, in an attempt to open up the event to allow more people to attend, like families and young people. The arena could have been way more filled if there was a broader option for tickets. I knew quite a few people who wanted to attend, but couldn’t afford the extra layout of cash. Yes, ranting about something that took place in the past, but UHF needs to learn from that mistake.

Seems to be the going rate for fundraisers at College Hill. The MVB reception at the end of the season was $500 / person.

7. $500 x 100 = $50,000. If can get 100 to come, will be a very successful fundraiser. My understanding is that in the past they have sold out these events as they can only have so many attendees due to the size of the house.

Wow ! At that price they may get maybe between 75-100 people if they lucky.
Maybe UH should make a video interviewing the Coaches and Players during that event, and for those that can’t attend they can watch the video on the website in exchange for a donation. ( Just a thought )
