Cindy have you attended any more practices? Any observations to share?

    1. yes, updated that above per our style

Lots of opportunity for Wahine to move up with matches against 6 teams receiving votes – Washington, Baylor, San Diego, Cal Poly, Missouri and UCLA. Shaping up to be an exciting season.

Preseason poll is meaningless. The girls know what they got to do.

Why have the practice videos stopped? Can’t find any new ones on Twitter or the other TV channel websites. To increase the hype and interest, post more awesome videos! I wanna see Igiede and Westerberg make craters in the floor on stepout moves! 🙂

    2. yes i have. Mostly been just reps. Serving drills. Passing drills. blocking drills
    Sunday no jumping.
    They are off today (Tuesday).
not really much to report. Freshmen continue to look good. Krug moving well, espeically coming off knee surgery from spring. Everyone battling it out, as Ah Mow says, no one has a guaranteed starting position.
    6. guess you’d have to ask TV channels about videos
spectrum hasn’t shown up. Hawaii News Now came Monday morning.
We shot a few Saturday. Mostly from Brian McInnis and Dennis Oda. Think I did one.
UH has done some from practices.
To be honest with you, my job is not to do hype.

I dunno if the pre-season polls take into account the transfers or international players coming in, but I know we will surprise the women’s collegiate volleyball world this season. Polls are …. but still, it was nice when the Men were #1, even for those few weeks.

4…I agree with your view….I am glad we received votes and at #32. After witnessing the Spring Match against #4 Texas, I was not very impressed with Texas. The Bows competed very well against Texas ( the “Jolie Rasmussen” show) but now with the added summer transfers (Bailey/Brooke), with the host of very talented Freshman class, and all the returnees all coming back in their best shape…BEWARE!!!
All they need to do is compete hard and win those crucial preseason matches and that will speak volumes for polls sake. Can’t wait!!!!

As good as it was, the team wasn’t at full capacity due to the flu bug that afflicted the team and Skyler having to be the only middle blocker available. Having overworked Skyler pretty much made it difficult for the Wahine to keep up with the Longhorns in terms of blocking. Once regular season hits abound, the question remains to who they’ll use as their second middle in the lineup. Krug has experience, having played last year, and 3 (Possible) freshmen middles. Which is it?

It’s going to be a curious season for sure as we head into Robyn’s 4th season.

When does the Big West come out with their preseason poll? Is Tiff Wells again a pollster this season?

Should be a competitive conference season.

  13. Rodney Okita August 13, 2019 5:30 pm

Is Reilly still here? Ang spoke about 4 True Frosh but I thought that there were5?Wagoner still here?

  14. Cindy Luis August 13, 2019 6:33 pm

    12. Big West poll out Wednesday, 9 a.m HST
Tiff does not vote on the Big West poll. It’s a coaches poll.
Tiff votes on Off The Block men’s poll. I have in the past as well.
    13. Wagoner is here. Ljungqvist did not say four freshmen. I wrote that I made the mistake of typing four, not five, and forgot to mention Wagoner. (It’s Riley, BTW)
I mentioned my mistake in earlier post.

Kind of thinking way ahead of time ,but i wonder if Lang and Via (2020 commits) will be making a trip down to Waco when the Wahine take on Baylor and Missouri. I think they live about 2 hrs away.
Little over 2 weeks first serve, can’t wait. Hopefully by the time Wahine starts Conf play they are in the top 25.
