The writer said “rightside” hitter, not “outside hitter.” Why is this noteworthy? Because Hawaii was known (40 yrs) to be a “left-side” oriented team; indeed, many programs are still left-side oriented. In truth, Hawaii is in the vanguard of schools helping to define the changing state of women’s volleyball.
