new thread up for Sunday
some comments.
The coaches prepared the team for Portland, they ran Portland’s offense several times during practices. If the players don’t follow the game plan, then what are you going to do.
Agree with Ma’afala being a front-row liability.
But don’t be surprised if they go to a 5-1 with Ma’afala setting.

My feeling is RAMS going with a smaller team utilizing what she has. I cannot reason , why she does not try to utilize recruits (to develop cohesion and give them game experience). I may ruffle feathers , but there are players being used, that (I think) , brings down morale . Hey man , serving into da net—come on! Norene and Faith on the floor can work (defense), but do not think it expands anything for offense. Looks like acing Big West might be only way to get in NCAA’s–Hoping for better!!

They were wandering around the floor like they were meeting each other for the first time . It was a little embarrassing.

In all losses she played front row and outside hitters ate her up she just doesn’t jump well enough on the block.

Hope they get a win today and get confidence for Oregon.

What is telling is the Wahines haven’t beaten any ranked teams last year and probably won’t this year. Obviously this isn’t typical of Wahine VB expectations but its also a testament to Dave Shoji’s legacy and the extremely big shoes Ah Mow has to fill. Nevertheless, Wahine results are related to coaching and Ah Mow has to find the keys raising the level of play back to the elite level.

Their quick attack was very successful against Wahine. Our high bump sets telegraphed our moves too much. It also seems like Akiu was encroaching a little more than what would be her immediate area of responsibility by getting in the way of the front line. JMHO. Would love to see the Wahine incorporate more of a quick set based our lack of size in the front. I still have a lot of faith that everyone will pull things back in order like when they played Coastal Carolina & Idaho.
GO BOWS!
