Gives s 3- meter attack option
They aren’t going to sub her out
Not sure why question over BYU came up
Cougars scheduled for RPI reason Aliso schools try to bring local girls home during their careers
UH accommodated BYU
Not playing on Sunday
This wasn’t an NCAA run event It was UHs and their invitations
Bottom line is if the tournament had been played in a Sunday BYU wouldn’t have come out

Thanks for the explanation. I thought some persons said Cal Poly played not too tough a schedule. But i see they played ranked Washington, Oregon and Wichita St. while UH played UCLA, BYU, San Diego and Utah.
In the last poll, Cal Poly was receiving some votes and also Baylor.

UH has a good non-conference schedule, which will boost its current ranking as teams like BYU, San Diego, South Dakota and Utah have really good seasons.

Per http://ncaastats.figstats.net/volleyball-rpi.cgi , UH’s adjusted RPI rank is 118 with the 70th best SOS. Poly is ranked 35th with the 82nd best SOS. Poly is higher because of its 7-2 record vs. UH’s losing record.

To repeat what I said a few days ago, root for Poly other than when they play UH. We want Poly to be a good RPI team that UH has the opportunity to beat (UH is 0-4 vs. Top 50 RPI, no results against Top 25 RPI). UCR and UCI, despite high current RPIs, are going to fall in the RPIs as the season progresses–they will have a poor non-conf SOS and will lose more in the BW. The other teams are just not good right now.

Settling in, I see Kendra and Kirstan sharing the rt. side. The emergence of Castillo and the dramatic improvement in consistency by McKenna has set the left side. We have 3 good plus 1 great middle blocker to choose from. We have 3 good and one great defensive specialist. And we have a potential All-American setter. The coaching staff are improving daily along with team. We will some one’s night mare when we go to the NCAA’s. I also agree that beating Baylor helped in abolishing the downward spiral of the “self fulfilling prophesy” of losing at the end.

Howling and Williams are works in progress and have good potential with ,more playing time. Castillo has potential (but needs to start faster and focus).McKenna G is McKenna G–atomic arm , but needs to stay in focus. She , also needs to move her feet on defense (not in balance). I think Sibley will get better with more playing time and McKenna R. was a darn good move (back row sub for Casey). She digs and passes better and also is an offensive option. Hoping to see Janelle and Shaney (if not redshirting). Shaney could be Nikki’s Taylor’s heir apparent. Anyway—————-GO BOWS

UH at 164, SOS 69.
Besides beating Wichita St, Cal Poly defeated Santa Clara RPI 88, SOS 29.
But this RPI list was before recording their win vs Wichita St and before UH’s win vs Baylor, i think.

From Post game shows insight: Scott Wong was the one who convinced Dave to recruit Maglio.
Dave said that he found that the encouraging method is the best way to coach nowadays, unlike Riley Wallace’s earlier style. Lisa said that when she played, Dave was not a very good communicator but there were assistants to do it.
He did a good job on the post-game shows.

Nevada kind of gave up there at the end. They still had one more time out and the Nevada coach never even bother to take it. Weird seeing all three of our setters in the game at the same time. Maafala setting Iosia was unreal. BYU wins the tourney title with BYU’s Miller MOP as I predicted in the previous thread. Granato & Maglio on the all tourney team along with Nevada’s local girl Shayla Hoeft……
