Up ref flown in form mainland.
Think the yellow card was deserved for delay of game.
I didn’t think Choy had left her feet since she is aware she is a back-row player. I didn’t see the replay so guess I’m wrong.
Van Sickle didn’t practice until Thursday. She isn’t totally healthy and they don’t wont’ to risk further aggravating it.
Hellvig struggled on the left. She went 8-0-12 in Sets 4-5 when hitting mostly right.
With Van Sickle in, that meant Westerberg was out.

I know her offense is a work in progress. She passed very well tonight.

Brooke only practiced once. She didn’t think she would need Brooke. She thought her team could do it. Obviously we needed her and I’m glad Robyn did put her in. But it wouldn’t have looked good if she put in a player who didn’t practice over a player that did

You’re right, just watched the DVR, and Choy did leave her feet on that ‘controversial’ call in the fifth. At least a few inches. Up Ref got it right. Apparently Choy didn’t realize what she did, or she was pitching hokum. It drew in her coaches and resulted in the yellow card. The next play, UC Davis had a service error. So the back and forth took some time, amped the crowed, and chilled the server. Sometimes, it pays to argue a bit over close calls. It can steal back a little momentum, if not pushed too far.

With only one, Hawaii will continue to struggle, but with at least two, the offense becomes less predictable and more steady.

Based on the replay, Choy’s feet did leave the floor.

45. Agreed. BVS according to CMac(announcer) contributed defense and offense. But, IMHO, she contributed more than that. Her presence produced a spark. She was the lift the Wahine needed to get their mojo working. She juiced up their adrenaline and created incentive, motivation and drive when they were faltering. You cannot coach motivation. You can only have it or be doomed from the lack of it. Thank you BVS for your motivational presence!!! GO BOWS!!!

The first two sets were hard to watch. They looked confused and no energy. When BVS was announced that she was starting set 3, a huge cheer came from the crowd! Her being on the court made a HUUUUUGE difference!! She definitely was the MVP tonight!
