Will be right before the first match on Jan. 3
11. i don’t know how the recruiting process went. Kiraly has a youtube video recruiting video
I didn’t see that Hellvig had a difficult time. As have mentioned, English is a required school subject in European countries.
15. Again, English is required in school in Europe. And Volleyball is a universal language. And as you mention, UH has quite a number for foreign students.
18. haven’t seen ticket prices announced but I know they are higher than last year according to the season ticket holders who got their renewal forms
For any ticket questions, go to Hawaiiathletics.com and click on TICKETS

Pushing your limits and going out of your comfort zone can be positively life altering and provide experiences for big growth and expansion of one’s world view. Student-athletes who choose to come here for an undergraduate experience set themselves up to be strong candidates for graduate programs because Hawaii offers a unique experience and exposure to stuff found no where else in da world.

You may struggle longer to learn proper volleyball techniques but surprisingly, you will start speaking in English comfortably within 2-3 months in very friendly, supporting, tolerant team/group environment. In addition, ‘International Student Office at University’ acts as a guardian for international students with some programs to get accustom to local culture fast. In fact, most of graduate programs in Manoa campus have more international students…If you are talented foreign student; then the command of English is never a barrier to be in wahine squad.

Most healthy young adults want to leave home at some point, and are more than willing to trade a little homesickness for the distance and independence and opportunity to grow that UH Volleyball can provide. Now, if Hawai’i volleyball could just chuck some of the dumb football generated mumbo jumbo that is truly meaningless to anyone not from Hawai’i, like ‘Defend Pride Rock’, or ‘Live Aloha, Play Warrior’. Meaningless harmless sports marketing catch phrases at best, but entirely can’t relate nonsense to mainland and foreign kids. And maybe enough to make them wonder just a bit if that’s something they want to associate with.

What inspired Anna to want to travel almost 8,000 miles from a land locked nation to a place surrounded by water and away from her family? At least Hanna had and was influenced by Angelica’s presence to help her with some of the language difficulties, customs, culture, etc.
