Don’t think I’ve mentioned this before but former Wahine McKenna Granato will be playing beach for Utah. As will Kamehameha grad Tiyana Hallums, who played indoor at Gonzaga.

To me the fifth set is like overtime. Two teams are tied at 2 each so the final set should not be like a “regular set”. Other sports are like that. In college football, their overtime is shorten to one possession each team and the last one to score and stop the other team wins. In college basketball, the overtime session is only 5 minutes. In college softball, a runner is placed on second base and you play from there.

I don’t see it as a bad thing to go only to 15. Part of it is to shorten the game but also part of it is to make it more exciting.

2. interesting that this is brought up now.
not sure what the other teams would do. Guessing they’d go back home first since likely they have a round trip to Honolulu and back. plus you don’t need to be at the regional site Wednesday. (for a Friday match)
3. don’t think time is a consideration. At least they finally got it changed from going to 30 to 25. Never understood the logic of 30 points other than it was 2×15
We didn’t have the RPI used by the committee. Coming into the selection show, Hawaii was at 11. who knows if it slipped to 12
Set 5 has always been at 15, including back when it was traditional scoring when all sets went to 15
but, as maverick points out, RPI does not equal seed.
6. the AVCA poll doesn’t matter.
9. because the lower level is the same price for all seats. There is no discount for students either in LL
didn’t see TV info. I know radio has it on 1420-AM

11. I wish that ESPN3 would broadcast the matches. Then I could watch them live. OC16 won’t allow me to watch matches live.
