But the ball came before the THIRD hit and then, not allowed to contact until ball, at least, partially cross the plane of net. Referee made the right call in match point. But one in-bound was called out but it was clearly in, unfortunately, poly coach did not challenge it and Poly fell three points behind instead one. This 4th game could have gone either way as poly’s offence showed up strong after poor start. Unlike in first Irvine game, wahine got the benefit of referee’s error in this win. No surprise that coach was very upset. Very likely, Poly wins at home against SB this week to share the BigWest top standings with wahine,

She thought about the challenge but also knew her player was over.

True but what she said was once and it wasn’t picked up by the TV mics when used several times.

She’s cleared to practice.
They are basically redsshirting her and using her as a practice player.

In second match used the best crop. Hope the same strategy will be used for the back-2-back matches in first two rounds of post-season.
This weekend opponents with super go-to players produced at least third-round post-season toughness, and wahine passed the litmus test. Kudos for the whole squad & coaching staff for fine tuning up the team. Will not be surprised if all three BigWest Table leaders make into third round.
Rika, OHs, MBs, Setters & MR were tireless & awesome!
27 Agree. BVS did the good job this weekend, but time to rehab to be ready for post-season.
37 Agree…haven’t won the conference yet. Focus to hang on to top-16. Wish depth is used extensively for the remaining regular season (strength of wahines’ team effort) and keep key players fresh.

I thought “net violations” were challengeable. I don’t think the violation of reaching over the net to play the ball while it’s still on the other side of the net is in question. I think, in this rare case, the challenge would be it is not a violation to reach over the net when there are no players close enough to make a play on the ball, and thus the hitter was not in violation. But this argument is moot if a “judgment call” was made and thus is unchallengeable.

Four more to go Wahine, so FOCUS,FOCUS, FOCUS because you haven’t won the conference yet.

It was great watching that pile- on after the final point.

LET’S GO BOWS.

The final call was a judgement call and is deemed unchallengeable.
