No reason given due to privacy restrictions. In any case, I wish Sophia the best and hope that she finds a team where she is happiest. That’s the main thing.

16. Howling left over a month ago. Before the Oregon matches.
There was no announcement by UH. All Ah Mow-Santos has ever said is if a player doesn’t want to be here, then they should leave.

She has improved the passing 100%. She is the primary reason for the success of this years team. She not only reaches alot of balls. Her digs come with perfect passes to the setter. Plus her confidence it contagious. Okino, Gong, Granato and Ma’afala are passing better also.

In the 6-2 the setter is always a backrow player so they can only do that 2 handed set dump, which is not very effective IMHO. Doing that 2 handed set dump is kind of a wasted opportunity to score point. Much better take your chances and set the hitter than to do that two handed dump.

I do missed that aspect of running the 5-1. It allows the setter to surprise the defense with a fake jump set and then fool the defense with a dump. When the setter is in the front row, the defense have to keep an eye out for the setter to hit on 2. With the 6-2, there is no opportunity to attack on the second hit.

Can’t believe we only have our libber for a year. She is incredibly awesome! Feel like Ma’afala often sets too tight to the net. I wish they would diversify their plays, like run 3’s as well wen things aren’t getting put down by goin 1’s or outside pin sets. I was really surprised that I didn’t see Norene dump at all last nite. I wonder if we would be effective at quicker sets to the outside as well? But I don’t know anything I just watch so might not work. Found it REALLY strange that UH didn’t have pink at all on their uniforms, usually they do wen they have specific nights dedicated to awareness things right? Go Bows!

At the end, Granato’s power hitting helped wahines to reach the finishing line. Overall, super team effort by wahines, (particularly, hitters Liva, Burns, Casey) and I think, it was top 25-team performance like in Shoji era!

It was nice to see Sibley get some PT, along with Jong. Akiu had a great game except for the two times she got aced. Granato seemed to gain confidence. Waiting for the Mustangs at the SSC.
