Players get injured all the time, regardless of nutrition fitness, counseling (?)
7. it was answered. She has committed to Texas. Although not a binding commitment. Although N. Iosia pretty much said it was a done deal.

Nevertheless, with few adjustments, wahine could be very competitive against next top 25-opponent. With due respect to coaching staff, please, consider these few tips to be practiced in next four games before Calpoly. 1) Settings for taller Casey/Sibley could be few more yards away from block. That’s open a wider hitting angle for taller hitter. That’s how taller Oregon hitters attacked consistently. 2) 1/3 of Granato should aim edges of block, 1/3 top edge of shorter blocker, the rest to hole of block. 3) Please distribute settings EVENLY among hitters. All these three tips together will raise the hitting percentage of each hitter which is the winning formula for each game. 4) Use Natasha sparingly for next four, so that she will be available 100% for Calpoly game. 5) Some miss connections clearly showed lack of communication between setter and hitters prior to each play? (…plans to go left, right, middle or to slider or back row?). When setter plays easy, lazy setting towards only to one hitter, that hitter suffers low hitting % and brings a defeat. Last game performance was ~ top 25 (solely due to great digging and defense). Frankly, by sharpening offense further could reach top 15 level!

On a side note, Kamehameha and Iolani did very well at the Big “Durango Volleyball Classic” in Las Vegas this past weekend.
The Champions, “Assumption High” from Louisville,Ky (?) won the 100 team tourney. Their lineup was imposing with 6-2 and 6-3 MB. Their OH were 6-0 and 6’1″ Their Setter was 6’1″ and their DS 5’7″….in fact their roster had 7 girls that were 6-0 – 6’3″..nice size for a high school team
Kamehameha finished in 6th and Iolani in 8th overall with Iolani winning the Silver Division Championship. Hawaii always competes super well every year with the likes of Redondo Union , Mater Dei, and Torrey Pines to name a few
There is another “Iosia” playing at Redondo Union who made the All Tourney Team…She is in 11th grade and a Libero….Hawaii????

She wishes to play but just can’t. Looks like she’ll be out tonight. Meanwhile Riverside lost the first set. The match is broadcast by ESPN3.

Since then, Long Beach Jumped ahead. Not known if she’ll return to the match. Will wait to see.

The last match against Oregon may be misleading, for now perhaps.
