Let’s not wait too long. To the negative fans did you think we’d be 2 and 0? Two loses by a total of 9 points ain’t bad but not good either. Better then last year but tough schedule. Go Rainbow Warriors!

I don’t blame the kids because their playing their butts off. The teamis only as good as the coach and right now we have a very bad coach. It’s now year 3 and he’s making the same stupid mistakes as he did in year 1. So it’s more like the coaches are regressing and their dragging the team down with them.

Why? Because he’s a sportswriter, not norm chow’s personal cheerleader. Sportswriters don’t have to give positive juju and happy vibes to bad/terrible football teams (and make no mistake, right now, UH is a pretty terrible football team). There are many MANY sportswriters, for much bigger publications than the star advertiser who don’t function as the personal cheer section for their hometown teams as well.

Yeah, cheer the players and the school, but also consider, there is A LOT of money being invested into the football program and the head coach (public money as well as private). Different perspectives (which includes criticism) of the program is a healthy and useful thing.

I don’t see why you don’t understand this.

All the dialogue in the world won’t help them, but maybe a little positive feedback
Will.

Appreciate it … like I said, just trying to stimulate discussion, no agenda one way or the other. With that being said, I wonder what most UH fans think about June Jones being done at SMU. Some are already eager to reinstall him as Hawaii coach.

What I think is I’m done conversing with you about this. Not because I’m “testy” … but because it’s a waste of my time to have a circular and repetitive discussion with you after I already explained that “positive support” is not my job. … You can go ahead and provide the positive comments in support of the team here if you want, as others have. And others are providing criticism. It’s all good as long as it doesn’t get too personal.

Don’t listen to the other commenters that say otherwise. It’s a breath of fresh air to read or hear about the football team from a journalistic pov with comments on the negative and positive story lines. What’s funny is that if you wrote as a “fan” with more positive columns you would still have complaints that your being too nice and biased and that you should write about the bad things, haha. You can never please everyone.
