It was clearly obvious to everyone watching that McDonald was going to run. In my mind I was thinking (wishing) that perhaps it was to fool everyone into thinking he was going to run yet again, but actually was going to throw a pass for the 1st down.

I blame the playcaller on that one, but also the replay showed that a lineman missed a key block that would have sprung McDonald free.

Oh well, on to the next game. Hope being back in Aloha Stadium juices up the boys.

We sometimes need to all get that sober look in the mirror –this time, the mirror clearly reflected the coaches as the responsible party. We really should have had a W on this one–but on to the next game, which has some real potential for a positive outcome. At about the 1/3 mark of the season, clearly our best players our Ursua (go Halawa) and Tavai.

To take Dru Brown on a potential game winning drive on 3rd down to run a play that hasn’t worked all night with CM was crazy. When the game is on the line, you want your best in there, not run a play that everyone and their brother know is coming. Not going for the score at the end of regulation was wrong also. Why even call a time-out on a Wyoming 4th down then get the ball back and then run the clock out? Then in OT, we start with a 10 yard run by DSJ for a 1st down and had Wyoming on it’s heels sucking wind but yet we throw a pass on the next down for an int? Just should have ran it down their throats with RT. Coaches loss this game not the players.

For me, the loss is placed squarely on the coaching–I think we got a tad too cute in our play-calling (creative is one thing, not relying on our guys because we are actually better, another) and penalties, which for me, is directly attributed to coaching.

That said, we had tons of positives, and if we can clean up the penalties and get back some depth at dline, we will be ok. Naeole is doing a very solid job with the oline.

David Manoa played with a high motor all day. The personnel that missed and I believe it was more than three would have made a difference. In total agreement with coaches decision-sends a loud and clear message.
Overall this was the offense and defense best physical effort and I think there’s more to come and a few more notches up-disappointed but feel good about remainder-GoWarriors!

now its opponents team to feel the altitude drop to sea level and heat

UH 27 them 21 — DBs and special teams must increase their effectiveness and cut out those stupid penalties!!! does UH have a speed burner on special team?

kick off return for TD — kept watching the “right side” of UH and when the runner turned to his right UH players seem to keep going straight down the field

watched part of the Air Force game — wish they could have won – rain and cold!!!

must agree about UH play calling — seems the 1st qtr calls are repeats from all previous games — so easy to defend — its frustrating — co’m OC — be more creative!!!!!!!
