The offense and defense are works in progress, but will get better each game. If the Warriors play with the confidence and ferocity they have shown so far, they’ll do great. I believe!

Some great posts above! Mahalo to y’all. It takes a village to to support fierce Warriors!

Making a super market run on Friday to pick up special ingrediments for brekky with the Sweety as we watch the Warriors take their air attack to the ground pounding Black Knights!

GO WARRIORS!!!

LIVE ALOHA/PLAY WARRIOR!!!

I didn’t like Padello in that “low” two point stance (he cannot see at his height) but the scheme put him in good position. Mautautia (I think he was the “Will LB”) crashed the middle, Tavai and Okeke overplayed the (strong side) outside run so essentially Padello was the inside LB for that play. He missed. And Okeke couldn’t recover so touchdown. As the season goes on the defense should adapt to the different (over last year) responsibilities and techniques needed to adjust to what Batoon is trying to do. Once they get the gist of everything , then adjust their abilities, this defense will be AWESOME. I really believe it. You can see it. They just have to believe it too. I think they will.

However, the Hawaii offense seems more crisp and maybe the coaches are more insightful and individually, the players are better playmakers. One difference is the run option with Cole Macdonald. Looks like it should be another shoot out with our defense slowing them just enough. Another outstanding performance from the O line and we should be okay.

Army has several physical backs so, as Maddog points out, Hawaii can’t be “sloppy” with its tackling, particularly in its second line of defense or it will see a steady diet of gashing runs up the middle.
Let’s hope Tavai will be at, or near, full strength after the injury he sustained on Saturday.

The other key is to force them to consider running the outside on the option as a preferred method-the option phase is much deeper than Navy and provides a little more time to get to the LOS. Don’t get me wrong these guys are “stout” so no chance to be sloppy with tackling. No question that they will have counter misdirection and reverse in the Ol’ proverbial bag O tricks given Navy success on there reverse. Some weekly emerging stars every week on Warrior Defense-how bout dis! Time for all the stars on this defense to shine and yet a new one emerge. Inside guys will be key this week to clog the inside lanes-GoWarriors!!!!!

Their leading rusher in yards is Calen Holt from Kamehameha / 9.7 yds per carry. The team is averaging 5.1 yds per carry.

Of course Maddog50 is spot on with his astute observations as always …double digit win is expected this Saturday!!
