another way to look at “early signing” or lack thereof means more “walk-ons” will be awarded a scholarship?

yest, it’s best to do it earlier than later and if very successful, the February LOI day will become moot as all available scholarships will have been given

they did it until the “D’ stopped them or the OC decided to run different packages

that was fun because we all knew what was coming and so did the opponents

now, even if the ‘D” stacks the front 8, UH still does “up-da-middle”

win or lose at UNLV, we will be there for Fresno State — unsure how long we will stay

speaking of punters and kickers — is the kicker purposely kicking high and short to allow team mates to go down and make a tackle or is the kicker just no mo leg?

punter was terrible last game — does he have “leg” or purposely doing lousy, short punts?

Most teams have more than half of their commitments locked up. We have 8. From my vantage point we can use a better punter and a better kicker. If we can get a person that can do both, like Sanchez did, that would be great.. Right now, we are losing the kicking game big time. You want to win consistently, we have to have a much better defense. We had tough defensive teams during the Tomey and Wagner years. Since then, not so much. We need a strong front 7 with at least 2 or 3 pass rushers. Haven’t had a good pass rusher since Travis LaBoy. Wouldn’t hurt to have a playmaker dual threat at QB too, ala Milton and Tagovaioa. Dillon Gabriel is someone to watch next season as he continue to grow and get bigger and stronger. He has an offer from Navy. Good genes.

Why don’t we do flare passes to our RB coming out of our backfield (like the NFL) and have them go one on one vs LB”s?

Where is the jet-sweep that kills us when other teams do it to us?

How about modifying the Run-Pass Option to include a WR to come around from the other side to take the outside pitch; after faking the run & QB keep??

https://www.bookshawaii.net/rise-of-the-rainbow-warriors.html

Called HZone and said they are bringing about 100+ Dick Tomey books to Vegas, so you should all pick them up early before Friday’s Nakoa event at the California hotel on the 2nd floor (5pm-9pm). The HZone schedule at the Cal hotel (2nd floor) is: Nov 1, 2 & 3; Wed-Fri; 9am to 9pm.

http://nakoa.org/event-calendar/warrior-bash-vegas/

FYI: Dick Tomey will not be at the Hzone stand but only at the Nakoa event on Friday to sign your book. Coach will not have any books on him to sell; so you need to get them from HZone first.

Coach Tomey told he will also be at the UHAA event ($43 pupu party) at the Cal also on Thursday evening but I haven’t been able to confirm that with anyone at UHAA yet.

There is a possibility that I might not make it there this Friday or Sat–my own conflict with a tennis tournament.

Derek — kinda what I had been saying as an armchair coach. Suggested using others in the I-formation and even have enough talent for a triple option (shudder). Then the pass can really open up.

Better than DSJ right and DSJ left for 3 yards each hoping to break one. Gotta do something different because future opponents now has a lot of game film on how to stop us cold.

We haven’t won there since Colt Brennan was playing in 2007. So why would this week would be any different. Trust you eyes. We will not win as our defense can’t stop anybody and UNLV have learned that if you stop St. Juste you will stop the UH offense, period. I hate to say it because I want UH to win, but my head says UNLV 40, UH 20. Without our main threat in the passing game in John Ursua, we don’t stand a chance, at all. When it’s all said an done, I predict we will end up the season at 3-9.

Rolo needs to have Cole McDonald or Cole Brownholtz some game action. McDonald is more athletic than Brown and to help St. Juste we need to have the QB run the ball with some read optioon as well as give Tuiasoa more carries. Try throw the ball on 1st down on high percentage passes to give a better chance on 2nd and 3rd downs to pick up the first down. When was the last time we ran a reverse? A double reverse? A backward pass? A shuffle pass? A sweep? A play action pass? An inside hand off? An option to run or pass? We don’t have any imagination on offense it seems. And throwing a 3 to 5 yard pass when you need 7-10 yards to go for a first down don’t make any sense to me. At this point in the season, what do you have to lose. Go for the gusto, man! Practice it in your practices to execute. People don’t go to the games in part because the team is losing, but the team seems to be boring also. And people don’t like to see boring football. You might have watch HD TV football and you can see a lot of games, a lot of very good games. Know what, I just want to see McKenzie Milton and Tua Tagovailoa more than I want to watch UH go 3 and out. Enough! Sorry for venting, but I’m just frustrated as much as people are out there.
