Travel changes

Thursday was an emotional day with end of the partnership between Panda Travel and the UH athletic department. It was a relationship that spanned more than 20 years, and grew from then-Gov. Ben Cayetano’s appeal for the community to support the UH football program.
Panda’s two-person office on the athletic complex’s third floor was cleared Thursday to make way for the JTB Hawaii, which won the rights to arrange UH’s travel.
The transition was eased with JTB retaining Lavana Francisco and Corene Tsang as travel agents. As a formality, Francisco and Tsang had to resign from Panda to be hired at JTB. JTB-Hawaii opened for business today.

Under the direction of two former UH coaches — June Jones and Jerry Glanville — the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, 31-17, today. By improving to 2-1, the Tiger-Cats are over .500 for the first time since opening 3-2 in 2016.

This is a positive move. UH needs more innovative travel programs for their fans. Just take the time to visit other Universities web sites- their travel offerings are much more creative and fans
engage much more with their teams road trips. Hopefully JTB will not only make the trips more inclusive yet they will take the the time to promote it more excitingly online . Hopefully the deal brings more financial benefit to the Athletic department if more fans travel with the team to their games. It is a revenue generator at most universities !
