I think we can all disagree in the manner to which how UH can improve. For the most part the wariorworld blog has insightful discussions on ways to improve UH football. The common denominator in all discussions on this blog, as UH warrior fans, is our hope that UH will turn the corner and start winning. UH Warriors will win again and they will be in bowl games. When? Well I’m not sure when UH will be in a bowl game. UH warrior program and the fans have too much pride to let it slip into non-existence. Like everything else, this to (losing) shall pass.

The first win and hopefully many more to come this year and the years to come starts with Wyoming this Saturday.

wyoming. take the points and the money line. all day. although UH has a tendency to screw over anyone who bets on the game, because they’ll magically cover spreads against teams that they should get destroyed by or not cover the spread against teams they should smash.

For most of chow’s tenure, if anything, we’re probably looking at the former.

Former UH athlete has a good understanding of the way betting lines work … another thing to consider is that it’s easier for Vegas to self-correct and get money played on both sides because of the immediacy of the internet. Also good opportunities for bettors to get both sides of a bet with big line changes.

808, sorry. I am also hoping the program turns around soon. Shucks, this season I purchased three season tickets. First time in 18 years!!! Being his 3rd season, I really thought Coach Chow had turned the corner. Last year was so promising.

I didn’t see any totals posted yet. The under has been a pretty easy bet since UH’s QB issues and pretty good defense has been the overriding themes of how their games have gone.

Just checked the spread and it’s now UH (-3.5) at most books. However William Hill just adjusted down to (-3).

Stations, Coast, MGM, South Pointe, Wynn, Caesars all opened at (-3.5).

26. In reality, UH may or not be 3 points better than Wyoming. They are 3 point favorites because that’s what the books think that line will generate an equal amount of money bet for each team. Because Hawaii has a bunch of casual and degenerate sports betters (both legal and underground), Hawaii spreads are skewed a little when they play very small market teams (in terms of dollars wagered) like Wyoming. The books fully understand which teams have strong betting behind them and the line is adjusted for that. It’s the same way with USC. USC has a ton of casual betters that make the road trip to Vegas and lay money on them regardless of spread.

Books would rather win money on the juice rather than hope a heavily bet side fall their direction. It’s all about risk.

They use a ton of data and metrics and their teams of analysts watch all the games (unlike the people ranking the top 25). They use these metrics to project how they matchup with their opponent’s metrics. Home/road splits are considered (both straight up and ATS) including historical and trend data.

Other than day-to-day off field musings, Vegas knows UH Football better than any of us, including the people who cover them in the media. I say that because the books have done there homework on all opponents, whereas local media focuses on the local teams.

Where you can catch books making the wrong lines is in college basketball, especially early in the year. There’s just too many teams for sports books to have great knowledge on. In football, they have a good beat on just about everybody.

chow should resign, but not because of this wife’s condition. also, markazulu: UH isn’t a decent team. they are a terrible team. if i was betting on this game i would take the points with wyoming. just because the line is set at UH -3 doesn’t mean that UH should win by three points. Vegas lines are about how good the PUBLIC perceives both teams not necessarily how good the teams actually are.

Wyoming is no joke.

tom-warriornation- simply put you got no class. Hope no one responds the same way when something similar happens in your life. The UH football program will go on to do whatever is necessary to move to the next level but read Dave’s article this morning. It pertains to people like yourself. If you’re the guy trying to get people to sign up for away games count me as someone who will never use your services.
