Wichita St once had a football team but that program lost money and was discontinued in the 1980’s, I think , per an article.
They now have a successful
basketball program among other sports. So it’s possible to lose money in football.
Gonzaga makes money from its basketball program and donations, etc. That program once was in bad shape.
St Mary’s and UCI have non- football athletic programs but I didn’t look up how they are funded.
