Not to dwell on ancient history, but Charlie Aiu was a 4 year starter and had a first move “punch” that could break your sternum-

Seems like an abundance of talent with players who can play. Just gotta stay healthy as much as possible. Kinda of reminds me of back in the early 80s when there was a talented group of O-linemen up at Manoa named Mills, Sapolu, Donovan, Carvalho, Riewerts, among others.

My favorite UH O-lineman has to be Dan Audick (70s) who was a 195 lbs freshman from Colorado who developed into an NFL lineman. Audick pretty much lived in the small, garage size UH weightroom attached to Klum Gym during his time here.

That said, the telling item, is how cohesively they play as a group, as we certainly have a lot of individual talent (as I spy 2-3 guys that might be playing on sundays).

Such a long season and at times I see some platooning with some guys to stay fresh. The reason Leo K settled in at center last year was his personality that allowed him to confidently and correctly call out schemes and cadence. Some guys just have the right amount of what it takes to perform this role-no reflection at all on those that don’t. This is by far the best 8 or nine (so far) to be game ready in a very long time-GoWarriors!!!!

He will play RG.. The question is who’s gonna play RT. Gonna be between Norman and Kipper I think..

Naeole has done a good job of cross training linemen

Who knows, UH may become a go to institution if you’re an o-lineman hoping to improve and possibly become noticed at the next level. See how Allen and Waa get noticed once their careers are over with the Warriors.
