Wow!!
What a start to the season! That bam bam play at the one yard line was right in front of all of us in the South End zone. What a play to catch a very elusive runner just before he was about to score!!

Mrs. Lopaka and I enjoyed seeing all the Tsaikos at the Cabana and in the Stadium. Hope to see more of all of you at the Oregon State game. Only 20,000 attending what was one of the most exciting football games I have ever seen. There is room for 30,000 more! Maybe they will start believing if we beat Oregon State?

First off, hats off to Rolo for pulling all three players who turned the ball over. I hope the message was loud and clear.
Second of all, that #49, Williams, made an OUTSTANDING play!! On the last play of the game, he actually RUSHED THE QUARTERBACK to flush him out of the pocket, AND THEN, he kept running and pursuing until he caught up with Tate at the two and, in my humble opinion took Tate down with his hit to knock him off-balance whereby he and the DB could take him down. Great effort on that play, GREAT EFFORT!!

Couldn’t watch or listen to the game but….CHEEEEHO!

Got the late score and the events announcer made the score known…crowd went bonkers.
Good opening game for a season that keeps looking good.
Now if Na Koa would start with the Monday luncheons then everything would be fine.

I’m concerned about the injuries to Pavihi and Pritchard. Pavihi reportedly is out for the season. I hope not, and I hope Pritchard’s injury isn’t serious enough to keep him out too long. Coupled with Sanitoa’s passing, the mike linebacker depth is suddenly very thin after just one game.

Pumba not only tacked Tate but hit him at an angle that stopped his progress. If Pumba hit Tate square in the back, the hit could have carried Tate into the endzone.

I think Kalen Hick got a hold of Tate before Pumba ‘s hit. Great job by both Kalen and Pumba.

Indeed. Pumba ran more than 40 yards down the field to put a lick on Tate. Without that hit, I’m not sure if Hicks would have prevented Tate’s momentum from carrying him into the end zone. Amazing effort.
