How did Rolo let Milton get away when we had him here? He could get more bodies in the seats just like Moniz and Brennan did. He would also allow UH to play a more exciting style of football and win more games. Did Rolo not recognize his talent?

After pouring a ton of money into the facilities, stadium upgrades, coaches salaries, and offering the max in COA is it really something any mid major school should do? I personally do not see 35,000 showing up at a game no matter where we place a new and sparkling stadium with all the bells and whistles. Young fans today may come to a game or two but expecting them to invest in season tickets? Expecting them to show up at a game against another mid major team? I think there are better ways to spend the 350 -500 million or so that will be required to build and relocate a stadium. Like taking better care and upgrading the facilities we have now. UH football meant as much to me as anybody at one time but the BCS and now the Power 5 has changed the entire landscape of college football. In the end the loser in all of this will ultimately be college football. Even the Pac 12 could take years to compete with the big boys in charge. While the old bowl system never really crowned a National Champion it made every game count that much more. This bowl season only three games really count. College football is no longer the common fans’ game. It belongs to about a half dozen states while the rest look on from afar. If you don’t believe me just check the stadium attendance of a game. Any game not involving teams that are at the top of Power 5 conferences.

If I played DII football in Hawaii, every SEC contest would seem like a bowl game in itself.

How about building it where the grass practice field is up against the old quarry wall and make it so that you can enter it from the top rows from Dole Street? Nah, too much of a “No can” attitude in this State. But on the other hand, dreaming can’t hurt.

On the other hand, all is not rosy with UCF’s stadium which is 10 years old. More parallels with Aloha Stadium.
