The more I think about it, I start to get angry. Matlin has a job and responsibility to manage the tight budget for the entire athletics programs. Young coaches like Rolo, Ganot and Beeman can be controlled.
But another important function is fundraising. Can someone please tell me if the job is being done? I can’t remember any major dollars rolling in. If I’m mistaken, I apologize to Mr. Matlin publicly and in advance.

I often hope that Coaches like Cav & JJ made enough money in the past to provide for them and their families during their lifetimes. I also hope they have enough aloha for what they created at UH and would want to come back to re-build the program back to its glory days.

I heard that Cav got a buy out from Nebraska so if we paid him $150,000,Nebraska is on the hook for the rest. That might make it more realistic

How was the $1,200,000 derived for the UH Assistant Coaches salary pool ?
When i looked at the USA Today HC’s salaries, i see the other MW schools listed with “Asst Pay Total” , but UH’s is blank ?

I doubt that Cav wants to live in UH’s faculty housing, again. Going from $450,000 to $150,000? Hmmmm……… There are P5 schools looking for OLine coaches. If he comes back, great, but gotta be realistic.

We will see what happens on Coaching front but just FYI at OSU Coach Cavanaugh was making about 250-275 as OL Coach. He was there for a decade- Could see us getting in the 200K range on offer. Not sure published amounts of Salary pool is 100% accurate as things stand right now-
