Been thinking about this; to Boo or not to Boo. I have a suggestion. Complete silence. The fans should keep absolutely quiet for 5-10 minutes. Not a sound in the stadium. That should get the message across. And another thought – I would take 50,000 booing fans than the 20K fans or so that we have seen the past season. The Rice game drew about 21K fans. That’s for a team that beat a good Colorado St on the road, and a good Navy team at home. 21,000 fans. Boo.

Fans were afraid/are afraid the bubble would burst with the conservative play calling. The booing was just an emotional reaction to being afraid.

Nobody is saying that the fans or anyone else doesn’t have the right to boo. They do. It is important to note though, that although the team encourages fan involvement, they do so with the desire that it is with positive energy. Booing a play call, even in it’s most positive intent, is neither positive nor encouraged by the team in my opinion. I just don’t see how booing anything related to the team in its present state can be construed as positive.

Fans who booed have a right to boo. Freedom of speech. Or at least freedom of uttering an interjection. Better that they were engaged in the game rather than not. Better that they were in attendance at the game rather than not.
