A couple of days ago NC State announced signing a three-star freshman forward, Darius Hicks. Yesterday they announced signing a seven-foot freshman from Turkey who’s rated the top recruit in the nation at center, and this morning it was anounced that NC State front court players Abdul-Malik Abu and BeeJay Anya will withdraw from the NBA draft and return to play another season. There was no word about Johnson. Hopefully it’s clear to Gibson now that he won’t see much if any court time signing with the Wolf Pack. His best option for exposure to pro scouts is playing for UH.

This elongated wait, I think, bodes well for UH. Choosing NC State is a seemingly no-brainer, but maybe Gibson Johnson is a different kind of cat, maybe it’s as simple as him wanting to play in a warm weather state. Also, if Johnson comes to Hawaii, he will probably see a lot of playing time right away.

Is East Carolina a significant step up from Hawaii?

For sure, Fleming will start. The Pirates are coming off a 12-20 season.

I want the basketball season to start already, regardless of the appeal being upheld.

I want to see what we have with Coach Ganot, who I suspect will be a great coach.

I guess my question is more rhetorical. But, yes, you are right.

I can’t ignore UConn, obviously, a multi-NCAA champion, but, man, that league has a lot of filler.

I’m sure East Carolina wasn’t living the dream.

1993, the year of Trevor Ruffin, was the last time East Carolina made the tournament.

I hope Hawaii gives Isaac Fleming the waiver.

I want to see him play right away.

Yes @cappiethedog the AAC is a High Major as they have teams such as UConn, SMU, Cincinnati and Memphis which are perennials in college basketball traditionally

Hopefully Lewis will sign on, I think he could play a role on team similar to the one Quincy played, starting with tough physical defense.
