K-Bay, thanks for heads up to Brian M. about Star Advertiser listing in sports on TV, Thurs, semis and Sat championship game listed on premium channel 49 Focus, you have to have that Oceanic digital package, well for a lot more people , including neighbor islanders, who read the Star Adv. sports on cable TV, maybe a larger viewing crowd, will drum up more support for a growing UH MBB program.

well if the centers aren’t productive we can always go to a three guard lineup with fotu and standhardinger manning the post. rotate rozitis and the frosh to spell them.

Agree with Seawalker, and Gib and staff would concur, DEFENSE wins championships, and gets team to post season, and possible Bigger Dance tournaments.

With, the ability to score, and now having 2 good PG’s to distribute, if UH plays lockdown D and pressure D, with the bigs, guarding the rim, steals, deflections, hustle to floor, for loose ball and 50-50 ball, UH can win a lot of games.

Still early, however, Gib has some athletes to work with. And very BB savvy athletes too. Look for a good year this year, and hopefully a great year next, and next year after!

Incidentally Brian, any word on Gib finalizing contract extension if any!

Brian, as always spot on coverage and observations. Summer league is summer league. Offense rules, however, once in awhile, especially playoffs, some D played. Great to see UH guys, showing what they can do. Can’t wait until they start offical practice which is in about 9 1/2 weeks or so?.

Thanks , to Olelo, I don’t know how many watched, I am sure the die hard MBB fans, maybe a couple of hundred or more, watched, if not, word will get out, and the casual fan will tune in on Thursday and Championship Saturday.

Brian, Good Wrap, especially for the players knocked out of the playoffs… or are they?
The tradition in this league is a player might still be able to augment one of the remaining teams.
Maybe AV, Jovanovic or Dressler can enjoy helping out Artie’s smallish front-line — he’s been looking for Bigs All Year and was surprised (albeit it’s gotta be pleasant) that 6-7 Negus Webster-Chan plays 1-2…

Sounds like Garrett Nevels appreciates the benefits of having strong teammates and playing together in one system…it’s tough to feel like ‘you got to’ do it all yourself…
