not understanding the negativity here. Already writing off the season just because there hasn’t been an announced recruit from Europe? and saying Hall is in the wrong position? Hall is exactly where he wanted to be, head beach coach.
People seemingly are forgetting he was on hat beach side as part time head coach and has had several years of recruiting to build this team.
As someone mentioned, it does take Euros longer to get into school and through NCAA clearing house.
Considering that many players have committed as sophomores, Ah Mow-Santos’ staff still playing catch-up

Akiu is not just an experienced libero, she was 2nd team All BIG 12 for one year. You know the BiG 12 have some power teams so Reyn is no slouch. She was also part of the 2017 Collegiate along with McKenna Granato. IMHO, Akiu WILL start.

She will bring maturity, leadership and experience to the team. Okino and Gong will have to wait their turn. Both will probably be serving specialists.

There’s always something to look forward to each season. Granato has been improving every season and her senior year could be her best yet. Castillo got to spend the majority of 2017 as an OH, and one can only hope that concentrating on one position leads to her tremendous progress. Sibley will be a junior, and I hope she gets an opportunity to contribute.

I’m excited about Burns. She had a really promising second half of the 2017 season. Both Williams and Howling have the potential to be very good.

The Libero situation should be interesting. Akiu comes in as an experienced college player and will lead Gong and Okino, among others as I’m sure there’ll be walk-on DS coming aboard. Looking forward to see how McKenna Ross has progressed, both as a hitter and defender.

Lastly, it’s always exciting to see how the newcomers fit in.

They’ve had a year to recruit. If they can’t get at least one foreign recruit or hell just a OH that’s a terminator you might as well write off this season as well.

Any commitment from a foreign player will take a lot longer to process with the new administration rules so just have to be patient. In fact any incoming 2018 player is a gift and won’t be announced until official notice from UH. Probably late April at best.
