If you mean money
The Olympics, particularly the U.S. success, has nothing to do with collegiate beach.
There’s a ton of TV revenue for Olympics and AVP. that’s not the case for the NCAA
But beach volleyball is the fastest growing sport at the collegiate level.

Beach volleyball is an Olympic sport. U.S. Women took the bronze at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. Germany took gold and Brazil took silver. On the men’s side, the U.S. got knocked out in the second round, losing to Brazil 1-2. Brazil went on the win the gold. Beach volleyball is a fast growing sport.

Our elected politicians should find a way to pass legislation to put a simple, voluntary, yearly, “check the box and give back a little @ $” on state tax forms for athletic facilities. Seems to make sense, so that might be the problem as to why it never happens.

3. don’t see where they’d expand on lower campus. they are very constricted with the track and murakami, and the pool complex on the other side of the track.
5. they could make money if they could charge for home matches and keep concession revenue, including having beer. But they aren’t allowed to have beer

#3…We don’t have the money to be like LSU. They have tons of money to throw around and that is why they can big time facilities for beach volleyball(which is honestly a “small time” sport” that really does not make a school any money.

UH have more pressing needs than to waste money on a beach volleyball facility.

Same need to be done for Murakami Stadium. I think the upper level of the stadium is even steeper than the SSC. I sit in the upper area in both the SSC and LMS and I dread falling at the stadium more than the arena.

Wow! Have you see LSU’s Beach Stadium? It’s beautiful. With a huge scoreboard keeping track of all 5 courts. Hoping Hawaii will follow suit and upgrade their beach volleyball courts. Im sure they can find room somewhere in Manoa.

This is in response to the SSC renovations this summer on the previous thread. I hope they put railings in the aisles. The steps can be steep and there is nothing to hold onto if you fall. The audience for the VB games are elderly and some need help navigating the way to their seats.
