new thread up with team returning. There will be videos with coach and all four seniors.
UH is looking at doing a senior thing for all spring sports but much depends on if campus is open or not.
as for NCAA giving a year back. much has to be decided. How do you make it equitable. who pays for it. It will throw off scholarship counts. Scholarships already awarded to incoming recruits.
All but Papapunov are fifth year seniors, so they have already done double majors to stay eligible. Anastassiades has 150 credits. He’s also been offered the team’s manager job that will be vacant when Matt Johnson graduates in May.
as for OTB, trying to discourage them from doing it.
It’s not like it’s official. it’s another poll.

Suggestion for season ticket holders – donate your refund to the program. Go to the AKA website or write a check AND make sure it’s noted that it is for the MVB program or it’ll go into the general AKA fund.

The NCAA may grant an additional year of competition for spring sport student- athletes, if Jeff Goodman’s statement is accurate and that is what he means.

As much as our 2020 seniors would like the opportunity in 2021 to play for the national championship, I wonder if the commitment would be there. They have been preparing at a high level since fall 2019 and to repeat that extreme effort another year might be too much.

17. Dumb OTB idea. Period.
But, it sounds like the vote is going to happen, so why is it only the coaches and media will be the voters? The players are on the front line in every game, not the coaches and media (no offense to you, Cindy).

If the ncaa grants everyone an extra year. I wouldn’t worry about future classes, with only 4.5 and 6 scholarships available for the whole team , it’s always gonna be the best players regardless of class that get a share of that pie. I think it will eventually all sort itself out. i also don’t see every player on the warrior and wahine beach roster teturning for a 5th some will probably move on, especially if they don’t start.

Thank goodness Charlie scheduled a lot of pre-season games. Mens Volleyball did not even begin their regular season, if I am correct.
