Warriors seek to add kickers

The Warriors are hopeful of addressing the placekicker position during next week’s tryout for quarterbacks and kickers.

Alex Trifonovitch is the only kicker on the spring roster following walk-on Stephen Yaffe’s amicable departure. Yaffe said he left the team on good terms for non-football reasons. “I’m still rooting for their MWC Trophy next season” Yaffe said.

The Warriors have roster flexibility to add a kicker or two before training camp this summer. Two years ago, kickers Rigo Sanchez and Mauro Bondi joined shortly before the start of camp.

The Warriors’ spring training begins Monday at 10 a.m. The spring practices are open to the public.

Hopefully we can find a capable replacement for Rigo.

Yaffe’s highlights shows that he can really pound the ball on kickoffs I hope the Warriors get a kicker that can do that.

Rigo was rated high on the Kicking Camps website (Kohls?) when we got him out of JC. Many of the rated kickers are committed, but there are a few that are still out there. I think we actively need to look for both a punter and placekicker. Yes,
it would be nice to have a placekicker that is able to kick-it out of the endzone, which Rigo could do…We do have some potential punters on the roster from “down under” and Trifonovich. Too bad Yaffe is not available, but things happen…

What happened to Vavae Tata at KAHUKU? Did he get another job? Get into it with KHS administration? ?????
Any sign of him coming to Manoa?

Stan Gaudion has been practicing punts almost everyday at Cook field with Mayur Chaudhari.

Kahuku vs Iolani coming down to last shot. Not impressed with Ah Hoy as a athlete, not a big loss. Avea looks like a good athlete but very raw, may need to redshirt his first year at UH. Reminds me of a young Aaron Valdez and the redshirt year did him wonders.

Daydreaming: DT Scott Pagano reportedly leaving Clemson as a graduate transfer to play his final season for a program on the West coast. Hmmm.

    8. Tata didn’t speak to his team during halftime and after the finals game, according to reports. If true, there’s one reason.
