USC successfully defends its title, edging Pepperdine 3-2 for title. Second time in two days that the Women of Troy edge the Waves 3-2.

Cal Baptist drops men’s volleyball
As for the Lancers, on Monday CBU dropped its men’s program and will add women’s beach. Kind of odd since men have 4.5 scholarships, beach maxes at 6.
But CBU has decided to go DI in all sports, will leave the PacWest (DII) and join the WAC.
WAC has CSU Bakersfield, Chicago State, Grand Canyon, UM-Kansas City, New Mexico State, Seattle U, Texas-Rio Grande Valley and Utah Valley
no word on when they’ll add beach but you can be sure the coaches of the Big West, MPSF and other conferences are reaching out to the Lancers who will be free to transfer without having to sit out.

Think that’s about it.
Believe Ljungqvist arrives this Sunday. Will catch up with her next week.

Congrats to the 4 MVB seniors who will be graduating on Saturday. Too bad they’ll won’t be walking together. Hendrik & Iain in the morning, Kupono & Jennings in the afternoon. It might be a long day for the coaches. 😀

    1. last year it was announced on a Wednesday, usually the Wednesday after the championship. but with the pairs competition this week have been told that it is moved to next Wednesday, the 17th

    2. Doubt it. Warriors don’t need another libero.
Riley Evans 6-7 Fr. MB another matter.
OR Kevin Vaz, jr. 6-6 MB, played for Pestolesi at IVC. would have just one year. But French for those of you who liked some of the Ohio State players.

Got to meet Vinnie Lopes from OTB at Ohio State. very nice young man with a passion for all things men’s volleyball.

    3. congrats to the 4. think the coaches and players are used to long days. nothing compared to how long it took to get to Ohio State ‘-)

Emmett Enriques is a great libero but he’s used to starting and with Tui and Gage that won’t be happening at UH, could see him at Long Beach State they will need a starting libero (might even need another starting OH if Defalco turns pro)
IMO I can’t see the coaches going after Vaz since he is an opposite mostly unless Stijn is moving to the left side for good. I would prefer UH goes after the CBU signee from Puerto Rico Gabi Garcia.

    6. as mentioned UH doesn’t need another libero.
all i know is Wade and the rest of the coaches around the country are looking at the CBU players, current and incoming.

Hope Taylor has a great summer with team USA.
In the article today about renovations it mentioned something about more beach volleyball courts? Are they really adding more and where?
Glad to see the volleyball (and basketball teams) are getting new practice courts ,about time.

    9. Spoke with Averill while he was in Hawaii. he was very optimistic about making the team. What they do is out of the 18 on the roster, they designate 14 for the travel roster for each of the pool trips.

Article didn’t say adding more courts. It talks about renovation and refurbishing.
what you may be referring to is the “additional priority needs.”
The plans, which include Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium, Les Murakami Stadium, sand volleyball courts and resurfacing the Ching Complex track would require an estimated $11.6 million to $13.6 million,

If you are ever in the Ching facility, it is supposed to have concession stands second level. unfinished. also locker room space for the various teams, which id currently shared.

Would say they’re getting ‘new’ courts. They’re upgrading Gym 1 and 2.
Do wish Klum Gym was on the list. At least paint it.
