I don’t thinm I can take anymore of the R2’s slow calls…he was bad as an R1 and no better as an R2…

Can someone let Kanoa know that USC did NOT beat Pepperdine; MPSF Finals are tomorrow night.

  3. Big Island Volleyball Fan April 19, 2019 9:07 pm

2, Kanoa just apologized for his mistake, admitting “egg on my face.” You were right.

Pack the Stan tomorrow night. Show Long Beach what a real volleyball crowd looks like.

    Cindy,

Just noticed on the BIG WEST ROSTER OF TEAMS that Hawaii does not list Devon Johnson, Danny Wong, Cole Hogland and Alakai’ Todd? Was this an oversight? Would hate to lose our
    “local” connection?

    Aloha, Volley Fan

Great win tonigh! UH can get its revenge tomorrow night if they can beat Long Beach, but even better that they’d take control of their own fate. At least win one against Long Beach before the home crowd. I’d hate to see UH lose 0-4 against Long Beach. 1-4 would be gratifying. 2-4 would be icing on the cake, an almost impossible mission. So glad that I can watch live in California this weekend which I can’t do on the Big Island. Go Bows, tomorrow and win at home!

    6.
Those are redshirts so not listed among the active players. The real roster is available at hawaiiathletics.com

  9. rayson April 19, 2019 10:29 pm

    6. They’re redshirts. They are not listed and are not allowed to suit up and stay or travel with the team in post season tournaments.

    7. Hawaii beat Long Beach State in the regular-season finale here last year.

Good win tonight for the Warriors! Nice to see Colton more involved.
The arena PA system needs to be fixed, *again.* Do not understand how something so basic is not maintained.

I believe Hawaii just assured itself of no lower than a #2 seed in the NCAAs. Should they lose in the Big West finals…just remember 2002: UH lost 3X to Pepperdine- 2X regular season, MSPF finals, before beating them in the NCAA championship match.

Looks like less than 650 seats for sale online. Lots sold since last night. I smell a sellout.

  14. Linda April 20, 2019 8:37 am

Cindy, Per Ferd Lewis today since UH is now assured a spot at the NCAA’s, would you know if there will be a block of tickets available for Hawaii fans to be together in a section (like post season football) for people who want to travel to the tournament, available through UH ticket office?

  15. EA April 20, 2019 10:24 am

What shirt color are we wearing tonight?

  16. islandman April 20, 2019 10:52 am

Solbrig’s story if you missed it. Why he chose UH over Harvard. Also other items such as Milan’s coaching; that he lost out at OPP to a 6-9 kid from Bulgaria, etc.

new thread up on Saturday’s tournament finals.
    12. they should be at least No. 2. But even if they win, INHO. committee will go with overall head-to-head and Beach has edge.
We’ll see what happens with the bracket. If USC wins the MPSF, then Pepperdine will bet the other at-large. If pepperdine wins, I still believe that UCSB and UCI have stronger resumes over USC. SC’s one claim is a 3-0 win at home over Long Beach State.
    14. The NCAA tourament is sold out except for tickets the NCAA is holding for fans of the participating teams. Long Beach State has decided not to bring in extra bleachers but will be selling standing-room-only tickets as they did when Hawaii was there last weekend.
You can put your name on the waitlist through Long Beach State. ticket office in case tickets open up. I am not sure how Hawaii will be handling their allotment. will know more tomorrow.
    15. have heard both white and green. don’t think you could go wrong with either.
    16. he’s a really good guy. great story.
