  18. Jimbzle April 21, 2018 4:54 pm

I still don’t know why Hawaii haven’t adjusted their serve received with any subs.

  19. Chicken Grease April 21, 2018 4:55 pm

Jason Olive? Is he still acting/modelling?

C’mon Warriors!!! It is do or die!

Cindy! Why can’t the Stan Sheriff host? Should be EVERY year that we host at least once/one region! Or at least be considered!

Coach better not put in any player that I gotta look up the Warrior roster to figure out who dat. Go Warriors!!!!!

  23. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 5:06 pm

Wheels fell off and it started with bad passing, hope they regroup and take the third set stay competitive don’t give the comittee a reason to doubt them.

  24. KOH I NOR April 21, 2018 5:08 pm

Hawai’i down 2 games to 0 and in 10 minute intermission. Beach is 1 game away to the Big West title.

  25. KOH I NOR April 21, 2018 5:10 pm

It appears it may go 4 or 5 games. This would give Hawai’i the bid in the 7 team NCAA tournament. Trying to anyway to make it better.

  26. T103 April 21, 2018 5:14 pm

Yikes we are getting smoked right now. Hope we can re-group and put up a fight. Man not sure whats up but we gotta get goin, lets go warriors!

  27. HawaiiMongoose April 21, 2018 5:15 pm

Wow, the Beach is rolling tonight. Their passing has been terrific. I don’t know what rabbit the UH coaches can pull out of their collective hat but now is the time.

  28. Cindy Luis April 21, 2018 5:18 pm

UH down 5-0 in Set 3. TO Warriors.

  29. Big Island volleyball fan April 21, 2018 5:18 pm

So far the scores are similar to yesterday’s Long Beach match with CSUN which I watched this morning. The first sets were the same 25-23, second set only one point difference, 25-13 vs. 25-14. BYU just defeated UCLA in four sets. Let’s hope that UH improves in the third set just as CSUN did. At least the third set should be closer. I don’t see Irvine getting the at-large bid, not even if Hawaii loses in three straight. Just now BYU commentators said that they would be shocked if Hawaii didn’t get the at-large bid.

  30. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 5:19 pm

So disappointed in tui , Stijn’s and rosies passing today, they are just falling apart.

  31. Robin April 21, 2018 5:21 pm

    my tournament seeding prediction:
    1) Long Beach State
    2) BYU
    3) UCLA
    4) Hawaii
    5) Ohio State
    6) King
    7) Harvard

  32. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 5:28 pm

Having trouble passing even the easy serves, completely got in their heads,oh well hope they still get in and regroup, ohio state can serve tough also.

  33. Cindy Luis April 21, 2018 5:29 pm

when it rains it pours. Beach challenged Rosemeier’s kill being in. point to the Beach 15-5.

  34. Cindy Luis April 21, 2018 5:34 pm

Beach challenging SVT into the net on the overpass. Beach 2-for-2. Beach up 18-10

  35. Cindy Luis April 21, 2018 5:40 pm

Hawaii rallies to 21-17. to Beach

  36. Big Island volleyball fan April 21, 2018 5:42 pm

Just like CSUN, UH improved in the third set, getting its 17th point. Wish they could reach 20 at least.

  37. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 5:47 pm

At least no one got injured this year, gottta regroup and the passers need to get it together against OSU because they can serve tough also.
Rado absolutely has to play better or else UH is in trouble, when he is bad UH is bad.
Stijn and dalton had horrible offensive games too and I doubt all three will do that again on the same night.

  38. Big Island volleyball fan April 21, 2018 5:49 pm

So, is it sure that UH will play Ohio State? We can only find out for sure tomorrow. The BYU website guessed that UH will play Ohio State.

  39. Cindy Luis April 21, 2018 5:49 pm

    Warriors lose 25-19

  40. Robin April 21, 2018 5:53 pm

#34 #4 plays #5 so in my estimation that would be correct.

  41. Big Island volleyball fan April 21, 2018 5:55 pm

The outlook for next year is more sobering because UH will have to play top teams on the road next year, Long Beach and Irvine which will only improve next year.

  42. Kauai boy April 21, 2018 6:06 pm

#37 perhaps TJ will decide to turn pro if the Beach win it all this year…

  43. ManoaFan April 21, 2018 6:11 pm

Hawaii seem to play JUST ENOUGH. Just enough to get the 2nd seed in the Big West tournament. Just enough to get to the NCAA tourney. Seriously NOW, you cannot play JUST ENOUGH anymore! STAY aggressive for THREE matches! What’s so hard about that?!!! None of this acting shell shocked, looking lackadaisical and listless, and making ridiculous careless errors. Do this for three matches and then you’re the National Champions. UGH!!!

  44. Kahuna April 21, 2018 6:12 pm

Hopefully Filip Humler will be the left side terminator we need so badly.

  45. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 6:14 pm

Hopefully Humler can pass and terminate and stijn improves his passing and Rado his hitting consistency. I am not worried about libero.

  46. Lori April 21, 2018 6:29 pm

Unfortunately as usual, Hawaii cannot win when it counts. It does not matter what team it is. Hawaii teams are only good enough to get so far but not good enough to win a national championship. Too bad!!!!! Maybe they are not confident enough. I don’t know. I would hate for them to meet Long Beach again and lose once again. Ughhh!!!!

  47. HawaiiMongoose April 21, 2018 6:31 pm

#38 DeFalco has already committed to his coaches and teammates that he’ll play his senior season at LBSU.

  48. Warriorfan April 21, 2018 6:33 pm

As we saw the first long beach loss UH can come back and win the next one ,of course they have to beat Ohio state first lol.
Stijn , dalton and rado struggled today they need to be on fire to win it all but at least they will have a chance.

  49. Lori April 21, 2018 6:37 pm

As much as it is hyped about how good Stijn, Rado, dalton and on and on are good players, again, when it counts, they do not play well. Other teams don’t seem to have that problem.

You must be new to the sport of volleyball. First, it’s a sport, and if you’ve been following mens collegiate volleyball or sports in general, you would already know that this (i.e. losing “big” matches) happens to teams from time to time. Even great ones. Fortunately for UH, it’s highly likely they will be selected to the NCAA Tournament next week. So, this match is not as important as it will be next week. I’m sorry, I don’t have the time to explain to you the difference of what a conference championship is (i.e. Big West Conference Championship, etc.) and what a national championship is (i.e. NCAA Tournament Championship). But hopefully you continue to watch sports, i.e. mens volleyball so you can learn.

  51. lina April 21, 2018 7:22 pm

Once again, I ditto this sentiment to 45

  52. Lori April 21, 2018 7:29 pm

    46 and 47

Gees. Calm down, expert. It is just an opinion. We are all entitled to our own.

  53. lina April 21, 2018 7:44 pm

48 Just wanted to inform you because based on your comments it looked like information was needed.

  54. Bleachercoach April 21, 2018 7:44 pm

At the end this is only a sport. Long Beach St is not number #1 for no reason.
Thankful for winning last week at home giving Long Beach St their 1st Loss. If Hawaii gets invited tomorrow and somehow meet again, then we will see who wins on a neutral court. I did not expect Hawaii to win but to compete hard. In this day of so much parity in all sports, every top team has to show up and play their best. Keeping errors to a minimum and forcing the other teams to commit errors is how you can win the big games. I realize alot of fans including myself get so heartbroken and disappointed when our Kane’s and Wahine’s lose either important or Big Matches. Hawaii fans expects nothing but the best. I pray one day the top recruits come here so they can share in our passion.

  55. Lori April 21, 2018 7:57 pm

    50. Nice. Agreed. Thank you.

  56. KOH I NOR April 21, 2018 8:00 pm

18-8, on the season. Tough loss for Hawai’i. They played hard.

  57. KOH I NOR April 21, 2018 8:01 pm

Is it me or is tonight special around town? Mmm!

  58. lina April 21, 2018 8:56 pm

    50.
That is a better well put comment.

  59. Robin April 22, 2018 7:10 am

    UCI????? What’s going on!!!!

  60. cruisecontrol April 22, 2018 7:13 am

Irvine in?!!! Could the Bows performance against the Beach last night have hurt their standing in the eyes of the selection committee?

  61. ehyou April 22, 2018 7:18 am

The two losses to CSUN really hurt them.

  62. Macchu Picchu April 22, 2018 7:19 am

Okay I call BS. I was at both UH games this weekend and UH was clearly better than UCI. A 2-1 record over UCI plus giving the runaway best team in the nation (LBSU) its only loss isn’t good enough?

  63. Warriorfan April 22, 2018 7:25 am

csun ruined the season but still the ncaa comittee really just stands for no clue at all
Irvine over the warriors , harvard with a bye?

  64. ehyou April 22, 2018 7:30 am

Why have RPI if that is not going to factor into selection.

  65. Warriorfan April 22, 2018 7:36 am

They didnt take rpi into consideration or head to head so what exactly did they take? Irvine winning twice over byu is the only thing they got going for them.

  66. Cindy Luis April 22, 2018 7:36 am
