Hawaii women’s volleyball: T25 & BWC upsets

Mentioned on other thread that Wahine aren’t leaving until Thursday. Several of us had been told earlier in week they were out today.
I do not have update on Jolie Rasmussen’s travel status yet.
Two schools of thought.
She stays here to rehab under UH supervision
She travels for the value she has on the bench and rehabs at Baylor under UH’s trainer supervision.

Wow @ Rice beating Texas. First of all it’s pretty impressive going up 2-0 vs Texas, but to also pull off set # 5 after getting completely demolished in set 3 and 4 is impressive

I think this BWC is going to be a lot tougher than people think. I don’t see anyone going undefeated and I expect upsets along the way. UH may have improved, but so have some of the others as well.

Wow! That Texas score is huge! I was just about to suggest that Texas might be #1, but no way now!

Texas: I’d take RAM & AL to out-coach Jerritt Elliot any day.

UCLA: The win over UCLA told me little to nothing. Change is the only constant.

Stanford-Minnesota and Stanford-Nebraska: Before hitting, comes passing.

Hawai’i has what could be a trap game @ UCSB (Oct 12) the night after playing @ Cal Poly (Oct 11). Of course, Cal Poly and Santa Barbara only play Hawai’i that week. Hawai’i needs JR for conference; no pressure to rush her back before she is ready.

No worries about it being a trap game. All Robyn need to do is show the team last year’s result.

We beat CP in a very exciting match, then got swept by UCSB the following night. ….at home.

The coaches and the players will not be victimized again. If UCSB was to beat us, it will be because they will have play better than us and not because we overlooked them.

    6.

It also helps this years team is in my opinion a lot more talented than last years team. There are a lot more offensive weapons and blocking has I’mproved

    6. IMHO Hawaii did not overlook UCSB last season The Wahine had a huge emotional win over Cal Poly the night before that went five and didn’t have much left for the Gauchos, who hadn’t played the previous night. Plus UCSB did play well.

Hmmm… TRAP GAME? Try playing in the Big 10 or Pac 12. Try playing Minnesota then Nebraska then Penn State then Wisconsin back to back to back. Try playing Stanford then Washington then USC then Oregon back to back to back. If we can’t handle a Cal Poly, USCB, Long Beach, then we shouldn’t be thinking National Championship and just shoot for the Big West Championship, for goodness sake!!!

For a free 7-day trial from ESPN+ (to watch the Hawai’i v Baylor game), here’s the link:

ESPN+ show a multitude of sports throughout the day, well worth the $4.99 per month IMO if you decide to subscribe.
