Greeley out

Something will be released soon from UH but Greeley was in knee brace (left) today, using a scooter to ride to practice.
It’s very doubtful she would be available for the postseason if Hawaii makes it. Had an MRI. Waiting on the official news when she waives the HIPA

I’m so sad about Greeley. Such a positive person.
Root for San Diego and BYU to win today. All of UH’s opponents winning this week will help the RPI.

Too bad for Kalei that she will miss out on the post season ( I am convinced UH will get an at large bid)

Luckily the wahine have a very capable player to take her spot in Mckenna Ross but Greeley’s post season experience will be missed.

is Morgan Martin expected to be healthy by the time the wahine beach season starts? She would be a big loss if she won’t.

What hard luck for Kalei Greeley, both for herself and because she is such a team player and contributor. (And for the team, too, but immediate thoughts are for her.) Hope whatever it is heals readily and doesn’t cause her too much physical discomfort.

With Greeley out, does Ross move back to replacing Castillo? If she does, who would be the first OH off the bench? I think with Sibley out, Ross had to be saved as a sub Incase Granato or Koelsch struggled.

    50.

    I did not know that.

I thought alumnus was a gender neutral term.

With Greeley seeing extended minutes in the home finale, Hawaii finally lived up to their pre-season Top 25 ranking.

    Is she the team captain?

I got the impression that the team was playing their hearts out for her.

    1. You got both of your wishes. You piqued my curiosity and I checked out their websites. At first I was confused, how could teams claim that they won the WCC title? So I checked their past schedules and saw that they had beaten each other on the road and all the other members of their conference, so they were both right and they share the WCC title. So perhaps Hawaii’s RPI will go up thanks to those two victories.

    4. If that is an issue, they could always use Anderson as a DS for her and she can play left back defense while Kahakai moves to middle back. That way Ross can sub in for an outside hitter if they struggle. Having Ross back there is a strategy to get a back row attacker if needed. Kahakai has better range in middle back then Anderson so they would do that switch.

Part of me feels Robyn will stick with Ross still subbing in for Castillo though.

Prayers to Greeley for a speedy recovery!

Hawaii has shown they are legit and belong in the post season.

Tough to watch that happen to Greeley, she couldn’t seem to catch a break during her career here injury wise. On the broadcast it looked like something gave way on her landing, almost as if it popped. Glad to hear that she’s going about her day to day tho, and wishing her a speedy recovery.

And like many fans, Sunday’s selection show couldn’t come quick enough!

For those interested, Megan Huff is doing well with the Utah basketball team, so far. Only 4 games , but leading the team with 18 pts per game, .634 FG Pct; .727 3 FG Pct , 5 total blocks. Also .857 FT Pct and 2nd in rebounds with 7.5 per game.

    5. I didn’t know that either. I looked it up and Cindy’s right. You learn a lot following this blog. 🙂

Cindy’s story Wednesday morning says it’s a torn ACL. Such sad news for a player who gives her all.

Cindy went from the Nuns in high school to UCLA, of course she can spell! I feel real sad for Kalei. Not only for the pain she has suffered but for the lost opportunity to help the team that she is such an important part of. We still have three “smalls” who can help out on defense if given the chance. Megan Huff is dead to me! Just kidding, I always wanted to say that.

Yes, it is an ACL. same knee as her MCL. had waited on official release from UH after Greeley signed the privacy waiver.

    Tuesday T25
    7) BYU def. Loyola Marymount 25-19, 25-20, 25-16
    9) San Diego def. Pepperdine 15-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22

    2. Martin expected to be fine for spring.

    4. Sibley was cleared a few weeks ago, during the bye week before the last road trip. She has practiced. Not sure how the sub pattern will be. Anderson had been coming in to serve but since she missed some practices when interviewing for Med School in Missouri, things changed.

    14. where i went after 13 years of Catholic school indeed was UCLA. where as a ‘sorority girl’ you learn alumnus/alumni and alumna/alumnae. which is weird considering those are Latin words and we are Greek Letter Organizations. ( and technically most are chartered women’s fraternities)

But happy to say that I did convince UH to change what was called their alumni game to the correct term of alumnae.
Always happy to educate our readers ‘-)
