Some have speculated about the UH women’s volleyball matches being cancelled this week. Olivia is still a tropical storm but expect rain and winds. As far as we know, the matches vs. Oregon (Thursday and Friday) are still on. UH campus is still open. Oregon was scheduled to get in today, lift tomorrow morning, and hold practice in the afternoon.

Condolences to West Virginia coach Reed Sunahara on the passing of his dad Masa, a lovely man with a kind smile. Reed is a Hilo High grad who went on to All-America honors at UCLA.

Warrior volleyball players in the arena were to lower the net after they raised it during their morning practice. Was told they will be headed for Japan for a training trip, eight days. They leave Nov. 2.

Bleacher coach / Ron. Agree with you guys. Need to get Williams, Sibley and Howling out there to develop. Hopefully after Oregon, the coaches will realize that. Never saw Gong play. I actually like Okino’s “D”
