Warriors finish bye-week workouts

The Warriors finished their bye-week practices with a lively workout this rainy morning at the Ching Athletic Complex.

Cornerback Cameron Hayes, who has been limited to one game because of ailments this season, played well during scrimmage-like sessions.

This week, the Warriors focused on fundamentals and techniques … and getting healthy.

They will have a walk-through session tomorrow.

The last bye week, our Warriors went on the road and literally gave the game away in overtime to Wyoming. The following week Colorado State came to town blew out our Warriors ON OUR TURF!.

I am not to enthusiastic about what the Warriors accomplish this bye week. San Diego State Aztecs comes to town next week, and I do expect another blown out loss.
Before the season started, top football magazines were predicting our Warriors will be challenging for the MWC Division title with San Diego State. I was really enthusiastic that our Warriors will be presenting a good team coming of last years romp of Middle Tennessee in the Hawaii Bowl. Instead we see a resemblance of a Norm Chow team that stayed in the celler in their division for 5 straight years.
The Warrior Defense looks really horrible to say the least this year.

Not one to make excuses or take exception, however the Wyoming game on the road was a total of two plays really that made the loss possible-a K-O return and an ill advised pass play coupled with an ill advised pass-that was it. They team played extremely well that night with 3 keys performers due to suspension. I fully expect a rebound this coming week and weeks to follow-GoWarriors!!!!!!

Defense got worse from last year. I have said on several occasions that Kevin Lempa was doing a pretty good job. I mean it was his first year! This year, no cigar. Tells us that someone is very inexperienced. Gotta make some changes.
