Stutzmann reunion in the works

Former UH receiver Billy Ray Stutzmann is the leading candidate to join the Warriors as an intern this spring.

If the move is finalized, he would be reunited with his brother Craig Stutzmann, the Warriors’ quarterbacks coach and pass-game coordinator.

Billy Ray Stutzmann spent the past three seasons on the Emory & Henry College coaching staff. He was the Wasps’ pass-game coordinator in 2017. He also was the running backs coach at Western New Mexico in 2014.

Stutzmann, like his brother, is a Saint Louis School graduate.

    Ekahi, Ichi, Uno, Foist

Intern means BRS is only home for the spring?

are you still in freezing country?

    getting closer to retirement?

  6. wafan February 14, 2018 1:39 pm

    Mr. A-House . . . yes and did.

  7. rabbit ears February 14, 2018 1:43 pm

UH needs to stop low balling coaches. Of course they are looking to leave. They are starving.

  8. A-House February 14, 2018 2:10 pm

    #8:

did your reliable source say what happens next? move to PAC12 with Boise Sate?

more important question is why? did MWC decide to kick UH out?

PAC 14 North: Washington, Washing ton State, Oregon, Oregon State, UH, Boise St, Colorado

PAC 14 South: Stanford, UCLA, USC, Cal, Utah, Arizona, Arizona St

    wishful thinking!

OK, let’s hear it from Matlin!

  9. AllG February 14, 2018 2:38 pm

#9. Haha we have a better chance getting Tua to transfer to UH. More like back to the WAC or go independent.

  10. H-Man February 14, 2018 2:48 pm

If UH gets kicked out of the MWC, it’s really bad news. Pac12 is not an option because there is no chance we’ll get an invite. Perhaps Big Sky or worse case, independent.

  11. Inyoface February 14, 2018 3:12 pm

    #8 Really?

  12. Andrew February 14, 2018 3:46 pm

Find it odd that no national source is reporting on such a thing. Normally ESPN or even any other type of news outlet is pretty keen on conference movement news like that. I don’t think kicking a school out of a conference is something that can just be done like that either, I could be wrong. It would be nice if the poster revealed who is sources are rather than seeming like just a troll

  13. Akamai Okole February 14, 2018 4:12 pm

    Great Afternoon All!

Great noowz about Billy Ray! Da GM and Da Mama must be smilin’!

  14. Andrew February 14, 2018 4:13 pm

    10. WAC doesn’t exist in football

    11. Big Sky would be more of a worst case than Independent. Not sure why you think independence would be worst

  15. Akamai Okole February 14, 2018 4:13 pm

Eh…trollin’ is wat we do bes’!

    😈

  16. ai-eee-soos February 14, 2018 4:23 pm

    Big time trolling …

    being an independent is difficult.

    ask BYU and UMass.

add fuel to the fire … BYU wants to join ….. how’s dat.

  17. Inyoface February 14, 2018 4:24 pm

If UMass can be independent, we can too!

  18. Trunks420 February 14, 2018 4:31 pm

I’m waiting for official statement before saying anything else.

Just support Hawaii regardless what happens

  19. clyde February 14, 2018 4:32 pm

    #8: I hope your source isn’t KOH I NOR or Sunrise_blue. Just saying ….

  20. Old School Dave February 14, 2018 5:00 pm

BYU may want back into the MWC, but does not want to pay their own travel costs to Hawaii as stipulated for any new members.

All speculation, though and just have to wait and see.

  21. suckkabooya February 14, 2018 5:10 pm

UMass, BYU, The Service Academies, San Jose St., UNLV, Fresno St. are teams that might not mind coming (home and home agreements). Take one body bag game a year(or two when we’re an established program), a winnable (or at least evenly matched) road game (ex. Idaho, SMU, Nevada). One game a year vs. Big Sky (home only), one other game vs, FCS (home only), and a week zero game against a name opponent (home or neutral). I think Hawaii Bowl might be possible every year. 11 of the 13 games would be evenly matched (in theory) and winnable. I would think at least three games would be picked up for National Broadcast and with the body bag game(s) and a week zero 40000 fans game UH can be profitable. Just thinking about a plan B. I don’t think the Mountain West will kick us out. They would have to form an alternate conference that excluded us like the way it happened before. It could happen. We have to prove our value by getting on TV more by having an exciting brand, and by winning

  22. Kahuna February 14, 2018 5:25 pm

Why would they kick UH out. UH provide the conference with a bowl berth every year(Hawaii Bowl).Teams that play UH can play an extra game. Nobody have to pay travel cost to Hawaii. Hawaii provide the conference with a time slot like no one else.

Yeah…we sucked last year but so did schools like SJSU and UNLV.

  23. kama krab February 14, 2018 5:41 pm

    Howzit Everybody,

#19 So when should we be expecting an official statement? Tonight?

Just doesn’t make sense for the conference to do this when all they are doing is making money off of us with travel subsidies and the occasional bowl game.

  24. Old School Dave February 14, 2018 5:52 pm

On the other hand, the MWC was relieved that they could now play games on Sundays after BYU left. Don’t know if the MWC wants to deal with the arrogance that is connected with that school.

Doesn’t make sense to boot UH out of the MWC.

  25. Stephen Tsai February 14, 2018 5:59 pm

UH is NOT being booted out of the Mountain West
    F—king troll
This is what happens when I don’t monitor the blog

  26. kama krab February 14, 2018 6:06 pm

    #25,

Thanks ST for putting that to rest. Damn that got me going for a little while even though it didn’t make sense.

But there does seem to be rumors of more transfers and maybe something big that could be bad that is happening within the program. Any insights you might be able to share?

Thanks. Hope all is well with you and the family.

  27. Darren February 14, 2018 6:10 pm

    25. Lol, that’s a drop-the-mic post if I’ve ever seen one…

  28. MattyBoy February 14, 2018 6:19 pm

Is that really ST @#25? His responses on the blog are typically mild-mannered. Fooled me if so.

  29. Inyoface February 14, 2018 6:26 pm

Who cares about rumors, this isn’t high school. Go Bows!

  30. DaveLetterMan February 14, 2018 6:27 pm

#28: believe it’s ST. Original #8 has been nuked.

  31. Petey808 February 14, 2018 6:45 pm

  33. cappie the dog February 14, 2018 8:30 pm

What truly scares me is the people who want Hawaii to join the Mountain West full time.

  34. seewhy February 14, 2018 8:49 pm

    RE: #32

For real. We would get slaughtered in every sport…

    33. Not in MW baseball.

  36. Da Punchbowl Kid February 14, 2018 9:07 pm

ST has his limits too! He works too hard for idiots to drop in and poop in the nest like that!

    “F—king troll” (wink)

I am notabot or a “F—king troll” (wink)

  37. Stephen Tsai February 14, 2018 9:28 pm

UH just can’t be booted. There are all sorts of legal matters for that to happen.
And, NO, UH will not be dropping football.
There are all sorts of disgruntled people who are trying to create panic with false rumors to scare recruits.
This is what happens when unhappy people get WiFi in their mother’s basement

  38. roygbivs February 14, 2018 9:46 pm

    Happy Galentine’s!!

Let’s gets to spring ball 🏈….

  39. seewhy February 14, 2018 9:50 pm

These dummies trying to give ST a heart attack! Nuff already!

  40. suckkabooya February 15, 2018 12:56 am

Trolls. Can be hard to figure out what is “fake news” when everybody is on edge (over the bad, bad, bad news on signing day). The posters here know who is credible on matters such as these. The “bad news post” was never officially posted on this site (it was forwarded from a live tweet if I’m not mistaken) but it was from a credible source so there has been some angst over the course of the week. Hopefully we can just move on and look forward to Spring Ball. Mild case of hysteria is all. Little too preoccupied on the bad, Maybe it’s because so many things have gone right so far this offseason. I guess my point is…………Do not disrespect Mr. Tsai and his blog or you will get your castigation in no uncertain terms. Definitely fair enough.

  41. Maddog50 February 15, 2018 3:35 am

So disgusting and just plain wrong when someone for destructive reasons starts false rumors. The hellbent for causing problems or wreaking havoc on the program is sick-we just hired what appears to be the best staff in an awfully long time. This years recruiting class is in upper half of conference based on ratings. So a few transfers take place-this was a 3-9 team that appears to have lacked personal discipline and internal leadership. Things are on the upswing, don’t let these destructive elements cast doubt on where we are headed. Coach Rolovich is clearly trying to restore he program the right way for the right reasons, it is also the role of each and every assistant coach to teach and preach the Warrior way-don’t fall for false bs! GoWarriors!!!

Hey ST, I know you said UH isn’t being “booted” from the MWC, but is it possible that UH will leave the MWC on its own accord and maybe go the independent route?

  43. burro sabio February 15, 2018 7:17 am

I’ve mentioned here before that UH had a much easier time getting non-conference games when Pacific, Long Beach State, and Cal-Fullerton had football teams. AT the time, Fresno and San Jose State were also in a different conference and UNLV was also good for a game every few years. Those days are gone and it’s always hard to find a non-conference game in October and early November.

I am and will always be Not a Robot.

  44. islandman February 15, 2018 7:32 am

    41. Going independent is “nuts”. Why are there so few independents ? and the people like Gov Burns fought long and hard to join a good conference.

  45. A-House February 15, 2018 7:39 am

my #8 was just a “wish” — nothing more, nothing less — damn, I sound like the Island Insurance commercial with Marcus Mariota!

some people are happy to “attack” — some people are inclined to sit back and relax

just like I wish my net worth was $5.4 billion so I can donate big bucks to the medical, education,
science, and astronomy — always liked to wonder what is in outer space — those photos of our universe are simply jaw-dropping!

what else can I wish for? maybe, good health and happiness!!!

  46. A-House February 15, 2018 7:44 am

Gov Ige on TV last night came up with $2.8 million to assist the elderly who are being raked over by their new building owners on their monthly rent in Kakaako

perhaps, he can also “find” $3 million for UH Athletics which affects a lot more people

    ha, again, wishful thinking

  47. MattyBoy February 15, 2018 7:48 am

    #43,

Understood Islandman. It’s just that ST made no mention of UH leaving the MWC on their “own” accord, and just stated that they were not being “booted” from the MWC.

  48. Stephen Tsai February 15, 2018 7:57 am

    UH won’t leave the MWC.
If it did, it wouldn’t have any games from late September through mid-November.
