Split squads
Today was D-Day — division day — for the Warriors.
For the 16th pre-season practice, the Warriors divided into top units and scouts. In simulating UMass’ schemes, the scouts also wore the jersey numbers of the Minutemen they will portray.
The Warriors also practiced in the white helmets they will use for the UMass game. It was a test run to ensure the helmet’s fit. The Warriors are expected to break out the new green helmets for the home opener against Western Carolina.

seems UMass will be “up” for 1st game and vividly recall the blocked FG in 2016.
hopefully, the DBs will not allow long pass plays – reminds me of the 49ers whose DBs leave a lot to be desired the past 4 seasons.
Allen Hicks joined the Warriors as a walk on. Is he now on scholarship? He definitely in the rotation for the secondary. Nice article this morning.
