After nine weekends of conference play, the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team enters its final homestand one win away from a repeat title. Not since Sept. 24, 2016 has a University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team ventured into the Mott Athletics Center and departed with a victory. It was Dave Shoji’s final year leading the Rainbow Wahine and Nikki Taylor put away 25 kills in a 32-34, 27-25, 25-17, 25-20 win over Cal Poly. The Rainbow Wahine volleyball team will try to extend its winning streak in the storied series with Long Beach State today at the Walter Pyramid. UH picked up its eighth straight win in the series with the Beach on Oct. 1 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center when the Rainbow Wahine rallied in the first set then rolled to a 26-24, 25-16, 25-21 sweep.
