Hawaii beach volleyball players Morgan Martin and Lea Monkhouse were named the Big West Pairs Team of the Week for the second straight time after going a perfect 6-0 in this weekend’s Outrigger Resorts Hawaii Invitational.

Playing all but one of their matches at the No. 3 flight, the pair helped UH go undefeated in the tournament, including a pair of upset wins over No. 3 USC. Five of their six wins came in straight sets as the pair went unblemished against the Trojans, Nebraska, and No. 12 Grand Canyon in two days of action at Queen’s Beach.

Their play against the Trojans was particularly crucial as they helped UH clip the Trojans, 3-2, on back-to-back days with crucial points on court 3. For their weekend performance, Martin and Morgan were named the tournament’s Best Pair. The duo has won eight straight matches overall and boast a team-best 14-2 record overall.

The SandBows, winner of their last eight dual matches, will take on Nebraska for the third time in four days, when they host the Huskers at the T.C. Ching Complex Courts on Tuesday, March 20. First serve will be at 4 p.m. with the top two pairings televised live by Spectrum Sports beginning at 7 p.m.
