Hawaii opened beach volleyball practice officially today. They had team picture and workout on Wednesday. Emily Maglio got in last week. She said she’s looking forward to one final beach season and enjoyed her time with the Canadian national team very much. It was former SandBow Laurel Weaver’s birthday. U.S. snow team wins gold, Warriors at U.S. open tryout

From USA Volleyball A team of beach players added a few layers and won the first U.S. medal in snow volleyball on Saturday, winning gold on the Moscow stop of the 2019 CEV Snow Volleyball Tour. Three former Wahine All-Americans Karissa Cook, Katie Hartong, Katie Spieler and former USC All-American Allie Wheeler, who got a wild card into the main draw, went 5-0, beating Russia’s Olga Filina, Anna Romashova, Elizaveta Terenteva and Elizaveta Novikova in the final, 15-8, 13-15, 15-10. Hawaii is down two spots to 57 in the latest NCAA RPI report. Pepperdine, UH’s most recent opponent that defeated UH in five sets last Tuesday, moved up 9 to 45.
